Found this link on GoWyoGo...He looks quick. Don't think he could get away with some of that stuff at the college level. I want some of the guys throwin' blocks for him. I think it was earlier in the video, but some of the blockers just plain flattened some guys trying to get to Sutton.

Yeah I watched that again. Looks like a little Barry. I like the fact that he doesn't go down too easy. He must have some power in those little legs!
 
Not the fastest guy, but he looks like the kind of guy to use for short gains for the 1st down. Small and can turn on a dime, but keeps going a lot like a powerback twice his size. I like it.
 
I am a UW alum now living in Jacksonville, FL. I have watched Maurice Jones-Drew for the past 5 years with the Jags. After watching this kid's highlight film, I see a replica of MoJo. He has been snubbed because of his height, but I love his powerful legs and his quickness out of the break. This could be a huge get for the Pokes!!
 
I have a feeling that this class is going to be sneaky good... A lot of Texas recruits and that is usually a good thing.

In my opinion, Kody would be best utilized as a return specialist. I think rivals lists him at 5'9, but after talking with some people down in Texas, it sounds more like he is around 5'6. It is very rare for a back of that stature to be able to be a featured back in an FBS program. Yes, I know about the Rogers kid at Oregon State and Sproles from KSU, but those are excpetions to the rule, not the rule itself.

Yeah, his highlight tape is impressive, but you would be hard pressed to find a RB holding offers from FBS programs who doesn't have an impressive high school highlight tape. Personally, I think our best bet at RB is going to be Kongo. He just has to stay healthy.

Yea, it might be rare, but it is based on a misconception...I sure would have liked to have seen Danny Woodhead line up at RB for the Cowboys rather than torch the Orediggers in D2 for 4 years!

The "rule itself" is just a perpetuated misconception...
 
Yes, I am talking about Colorado Mines in Golden and I am talking about Danny Woodhead (Chadron State alum) who was determined "too short/too small" to play RB at D1 (despite seetting every Nebraska HS rushing record).

Well, Woodhead dominated D2 (and especially Mines) and is showing in the NFL that he would have been very successful in D1 (but never got the chance because of the "too short" label).

I think a lot of coaches give up on some players because of size. I forget what position Glenn was talking about, but didn't he have a rule about not recruiting anyone under 6 foot 3. I remember something about that.

I would agree with you if your talking about FBS programs who play "power" "run it down your throat" football. That isn't what DC is building here. He needs a back who is shifty and quick. This kids game films are from high level football in TX and he runs away from defenders out of his break. The other thing I like about this kid, is his frame. He may only be 5'6" but by the time he is a junior he will be 200-205 lbs. That type of back in this offense is what we are looking to find.
 
Got to be honest, I do care about size. This kid plays like a giant! Notice whenever he's tackled, he is never tripped up. And he is never taken down by one player. It's always 2-5 or more players trying (emphasis on trying) to take him down. This kid has got some power to him. I can see him being good.
 
going off memory, but i think the 6'3 rule of glenns referred to olinemen...which i think it was really more about arm length and frame size to add potential weight and strength. i bet if a 6'2 kid had the arm length and already had the strength and weight they would have signed him.
