Kody Sutton back with Pokes

Twitter reports this morning indicate that Kody Sutton has rejoined the UW football team.. he was practicing with the team this morning.

No real reason to bad mouth players anytime that of course is my opinion but the state of Wyoming is not meant to be home for some people they just don't fit. Wyoming is literally like no place on earth so some come and some go but I see no real reason to bad mouth anyone.

So on that as long as Sutton is running the ball I still think he is going to have a break out season!

Glad to see he worked out whatever it was that needed working out. RB looks as if it could be a weak point for us, especially without Kody. Then again, maybe seeing the two freshmen average only 2.5 yards against the #2 defense on Saturday made him realize that he will be getting his carries.

Pretty sure Wick averaged almost 4 yards/carry Saturday.

Quotes from Scott Nulph's Twitter:
Sutton said had family issues and initially thought going back home was the right thing to do. Family and friends talked to him this weekend

After talks told teammates and Christensen Sunday he'd like to come back. Team welcomed him with open arms. #wyosports

Christensen said Sutton will be No. 4 on rb depth chart for now. Sutton is fine with that. smiled alot in conversation. #wyosports

Wow. Interesting stuff. I like the idea of having him 4th, however. Might make him work a little harder to move up. I would love to see him perform at the highlight video level.

What I said wasn't bad mouthing in my opinion. I was stating a personal opinion on Kodys character. Football players get a bad enough name on campus for being "tools." Kody only further proves the stereotype.

I appreciate hearing the opinions of people that may know or have had interactions with a player. Frankly, I feel for the players as they are under a microscope that many other college students are not; but, the other side of the coin is that they get a full scholarship and thus should be accountable to a higher standard.

Sutton is now 4th on the depth chart and will have to prove himself. Either way, I think it is good for the team (on the field) that he is sticking around as we just didn't have enough RB depth. I hope he emerges and that we have a solid RB core!

You totally badmouthed him, but that's fine. I, for one, respect you for it. I hope you don't hesitate to post in the future about anything similar.

True. I lumped them together because of the article in the Trib that says everyone is grouping them together by speaking about them as "they" not as individuals. It even says they refer to themselves as "we". It's the same article where DC says that we have the three best RBs since he's been here. I thought Kody may have seen their numbers drop way off after the first scrimmage and thought he'd be back in the mix. But in an article I read today he said their performance had nothing to do with his decision either way, just feedback from his mother and friends. I still feel he'll end up getting the most carries.

To me badmouthing someone would be making comments with little knowledge or stretching the truth. I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not though. Anyways, I will say he is not the only one that exhibits these characteristics. I have specifically only run into it with the football team and I know kids from all sports. I think this just goes to show that we really need to look at more than just a recruits play when recruiting an individual. If you have solid players both on and off the field you will have a better locker room and better relationships on field between players which would improve play. I think this perception of players from most students is one reason student attendance isn't very high at games aside from us not always winning. If students enjoy football players and like them more on campus and in the classroom they will be more likely to come out and support them on saturdays.

I will eat crow on this. I said it wasn't going to be a big blow to us because Kody is not fast enough. I also said he would have been better suited at the D2 or D3 level. I HOPE I AM WRONG!! I am usually wrong about everything, so I hope that I am wrong and that Kody has nothing but success. I wish him the best and hope he becomes the next stud running back for the Pokes. BEAT TEXAS!
