Again, you have a one-track mind. Tell me where I said we need to can him? The argument is not that both the Oline and Dline are/aren't strong enough. The argument is whether or not Greener is the most qualified S&C we can get. Focus.

I would like to state, in my opinion, Trent Greener may be a fantastic person, a well conditioned healthy individual, a great husband, and a former Cowboy...but he blows as a FBS S&C coach.

Pretty sure it was his brilliant idea to wipe out the all-time weight room records board, and fill it with "his guys". Although DC surely played a role in that.

I wasn't "attacking" anyone, jackass. Just because someone doesn't believe what you believe doesn't mean they are attacking what you believe in. I'm done with you...this has been humorous, but a waste of time.

Let me say this right off, I don't know Greener personally. I have never met him but I do remember him playing at Wyoming. I have looked at his resume, which is very impressive and read some things about him. He was involved in a lot of teams that were bowl teams. So you are saying all of a sudden, that was done by smoke and mirrors at Oregon? What I am saying is that you are attacking him without knowing the whole story and it doesn't sit well with me when people just go off attacking someone without really knowing. Do you have an example where he didn't coach the kids up to the level that Christensen wanted? Do you know for certain that it was his idea to remove all previous lifting records? Do you know whether Greener was told to train the guys up for more endurance and less weight or more flexibility and more explosiveness and less weight? If you have the answers to all of these things for SURE and can prove them, then I might believe you. But you are going on assumptions and demeaning a guy that is very well thought of in his profession across the nation.

You certainly weren't giving him a show of support......it has nothing to do with agreeing with me or not. Your arguments are getting more desperate with each passing post.

Wow - settle down. Relax a little, and maybe put off responding until you can gather yourself. I stated first thing that it was my opinion. Did you miss that part?

Let me quote my post...

"I would like to state, in my opinion, Trent Greener may be a fantastic person, a well conditioned healthy individual, a great husband, and a former Cowboy...but he blows as a FBS S&C coach.

I think (that is my opinion again, just to clarify) - that when a change is made at HC, that there are 2 parts that certainly need to be changed with the new HC (amongst others). And those 2 parts are S&C coach, and the DFO. I have my reasons, and again, that is my opinion.

My opinion on the matter is if Greener is retained, he needs to step it up another notch. Our lines are not cutting it strength wise IMO.

It's tough to jump to the conclusion that because our line seems to get pushed around, it's all the S&C coach's fault.

We'd have to look at gains made on incoming freshman throughout their duration at the school. If our recruits are already much weaker than other teams' recruits, and Greener established some solid gains...it still won't be enough to catch the other guys. Right? Technique also has to do with whether or not you're getting pushed around.

Greener seemed to do alright with putting on lbs on guys like Smith, Miller, & Spencer Bruce. Came in skinny and weak, got where they needed to be. I

I guess I'd have to see some of the lineman's "combine" results before/after to make a conclusion.

Greener is a strength and conditioning God! If you guys don't believe that and treat him with utter devotion, then you guys are attacking him personally! There will be none of that on this message board!!!

I got bored and wanted to poke the Tater...remember guys, if you disagree with him you're a Tater Hater! Lol.

You are into "hating" now...your words not mine! Talk about someone that hasn't taken their medication lately! But since I realize that line came from my grand children's and YOUR'S favorite movie, "Cars" I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

I have no doubt that you get bored easily when the power runs out on your toys......

I truly find you funny....in a sad sort of way.

I used "hater" solely because rhymed with Tater. And again you're trying to talk to me like I'm an uneducated country hick. What's funny is that you truly believe that. I posted one thing that you disagreed with and you jumped all up into shit and started calling me ignorant. You have no idea who I am, my education level, my profession, or anything...but you assume I'm some young, uneducated idiot. The reality is that you have, on this thread, attacked or tried to call out anyone whose opinion is different than yours. I guess I've been a bit of an idiot in that I've continued to going back and forth with you...I've been a bit bored while out and about shopping with my wife.

Don't you know that I have been having fun poking you as well....so I see that I got under your skin. I guess I have that in me to push it with some people and sometimes it comes out....just the same peace my friend and Merry Christmas and have fun shopping with your wife.

Are there any DC possibilities from his connections while he was at Nebraska?

Maybe. He seems to be a very respected person in the football coaching world.

Maybe some potential DCs will see that Wacha was named freshman all-american, and Yarbrough was sophomore all-american and 1st team MWC, and that could be enough to get someone to come here.

I don't think Greener gets a pass on this for a lot of reasons.

1. Bohl loves Kramer and trusts him to develop the kind of linemen he needs to run his system
2. Greener came from Oregon, where they have way more athleticism then little ol' Wyoming. They can afford to have their guys a little smaller because they are so much faster. That's not the case in Laramie. We need to be physical.
3. The strength and conditioning coach can be given a pass in the first couple of years with the program. It was obvious we were small on the lines after Unrein and Fletch graduated. It's still obvious four years later. I can't imagine that DC or the defensive coordinator said, "We wan't our linemen to be undersized and soft, just make sure they're in great shape." Any idiot watching Wyoming football for the last five years knew we were getting bullied on the line the whole time. I think Trent has to be held partially accountable for this.

The strength and conditioning coach didn't recruit the players. He also didn't decide to play a couple of 250-260 pound guys at 3-4 defensive end or a 290 pounder at nose tackle. I blame the defensive problems on a shitty coach who let his finesse style rub off on his players.
