Keep them up and bump receivers at the line and play a zone more towards the flat, letting safeties take care of over the top stuff. Just do this every now and then...something to mix up our coverages a little bit.
It has been the "mission" of all things UW defense to not allow "the big play" for years. Hence the 10 - 15 yard gaps...the thinking that by doing so, nobody will get behind the coverage. Not sure it matters though, when the opponent catches the ball 10 yards downfield, and gets 20 YAC.
And I agree bump & run would be a nice change to see, but you have to have 2 safety's that are complete bad asses...and we don't. Gary is a freshman (and it shows at times) and Prosinski has gotten burned more times this year than a pyro at a firestarters convention.
