Kenny Browder

Saw he pled not guilty to minor-possession and DUI both. Interesting. Obviously there is more to the story than what most here originally believed.

Also understand he is considered "questionable" for Bowling Green. Anyone hear if he is traveling with the team? Mistakes are made, time to move on, and not let this become a distraction. Either put him on the depth chart, or suspend him for the year.

Pleading not guilty is just a stall. Even if you are guilty, you should always plead not guilty at the arraignment so your lawyer can work on a plea deal with the DA. Drug and alcohol convictions can really come back to bite you in the ass down the road if you just plead guilty and pay the fine.

I wish I knew CC's stance on this. Nothing is going to happen until the middle of October, so does that mean he is suspended until all of this is taken care of? Or does CC let him back on the team and wait to see what happens? I have a feeling it is the former which is what I hope CC does. I wonder how much better our coverage is with Browder back there?

You can get a DUI for 2 beers with your dinner. .08% is ridiculous. he is a minor though and 21 to drink is dumb. i guess the rules are the rules and everyone should follow them, but you wouldn't lose an academic scholly if you got a DUI....would you?

Either up to the NCAA or the coaches.

Except that your driving actually IS affected at .08. There's been TONS of studies on this, and it turns out that many people's reaction time increases significantly already at .02, which is why many nations have this as their DUI limit.

That said, it's also been shown that texting and driving is roughly equivalent to driving with a BAC of over .1, so why the hell don't they crack down more on that?

I don't think anyone condones drinking and driving...but I would bet that 100% of the people that do drink alcohol, have driven impaired...to some extent...in thier lifetime.

My point on Kenny's situation, is mainly this. Either put him back on the roster, and make him do his "time" outside of UW football, or suspend him for the season and move on. The week by week suspension thing may become a distraction, if it hasn't already.
