Keeton done for the year

djm19" I think Garretson is very underrated. USU run game is so so. Losing their best defensive player in Fackrell hurt a lot. Losing Keeton is even worse. That said said:
Garretson was 6-1 in games he started. He came in for the 2nd half agains Boise.

Losing Fackrell is a bigger loss as he was a big NFL prospect. The difference is the linebackers are a deeper position.

Djm19, where did you hear DG was looking at transferring?

Utah State is giving BYU all they can handle... their linebacker turned runningback is plowing through people, and their backup QB is looking very solid.

Vigil was a running back in high school.

Their back-up played quite a bit last year, so no surprise there.

from some peeps at USU end of last year. Heard he didn't like the idea of sitting behind Charles K anymore when he proved himself. Could have been smoke, USU lucky to have him around as a back up with experience.

That Nov 1 game in Laramie looks a bit better for us, but Garrettson is good as well

That said, let's not forget that Garretson was 6-2 last year. Close game with Boise State. Loss by 7 to Fresno State and a bowl win over a good Northern Illinois team. The guy doesn't lack experience. Garretson could start at most MWC schools currently. He was going to transfer because of Keeton, but stuck around.

Garretson is not a Keeton type QB at all, but he does have a good arm. He got better every game last year. By the time Nov 7 comes around, he will be on things. The biggest issue for USU is their O line. Keeton had to run for his life. Garretson cant run for his life as much as Keeton.

Like I was saying about Garretson...

Thanks for that. I had not heard that. It sounds odd (not saying it is false) as he would have known CK was to be here through this year. Wonder if the redshirt was part of it.

Sorry for the thread jack, hope you guys are getting healthy and better during the bye week.

Sounds like it. Our o-line took a couple of hits (due to varying circumstances) over the last few weeks, and this bye week is what we needed for them to recover. And hopefully we can figure something out for our pass protection (weakest part of our game right now). And congrats on beating BYU! Always nice to see a team (especially from the MWC) take them down!
