What will it take to win Coach of the Year this season?

I know we have a long way to go yet. I know we could end up 4-8 just as easily as we can hit 6 wins. But is there any doubt that if we end up Bohling, our turn around will have been quite miraculous from last season? Doesnt that warrant Coach Bohl's name to atleast be brought up in the conversation? Or is this an award that goes to the best team....?

I think if Boise State goes undefeated, Harsin will likely win. Other than him, no coach in MWC has really made huge strides. if Pokes can somehow finish 8-4, I think he is up for it as much as anyone.

Sounds like Bohls name is already getting floated around. It's a bit premature but if we end up 2nd in the mountain division, I'd say it's a given he will win. Weren't we picked last?

Hawaii has also been a decent surprise. And they're doing it with a 1st year coach. Our 2 conference wins are more impressive than theirs, but we'll see how things shake out at the end of the year

8-4 to me would be a coach of the year qualifier don't ya think?
Depends on who else we beat, and how well the sheep and flyboys rebound. Sheep did beat USU, but USU is on a seemingly downward spiral.

It was enough for DC to win, it would be enough. That would put us 6-2 in MWC play after being picked last... It pains me how bad the other side of the MWC is... SDSU has a cake walk

I think that EMU loss put one hell of a wrench in coach of the year talk. You have to win the games your expected to and beat some no one effects and we absolutely shit ourselves against EMU.

Way too early for this thinking in my opinion. While improving, this team is young and inconsistent. I can see a clunker against a Nevada school just as easily as I can see a win against Utah State.

Completely agree with this. On top of that, we've had two emotional wins against rivals now (games that are easy to get motivated for), and lost the main player who pressures opposing quarterbacks on defense, which introduces a new weakness.
