As a true Chicago Bears fan, this brings Glenn to a beloved MIKE DITKA level in my eyes!! haha

I love it

This is Joe's version of the modern age -- digital communication. He is actually signalling Sween. He is either telling Sween to run play number 1 or he is telling Sween to stuff it.

I have a feeling theres gonna be a killer freshman duel in summer camp for the starting qb.. I'd probably be signalling Sween like that too! haha

DITKA

I don't love him for this...he's getting exactly what he deserves after a ridiculous guarantee of victory after losing 3 of 4 games and going into an environment the POKES have never done well in and laying a big
f*&%*&$^%# egg. I'll always support the POKES and I watched that horror-fest from beginning to end...but it's low-class and my kid got to see it on TV. If you're going to guarantee a win, you better coach a team up and get 'em out there ready to do something other than what was witnessed this weekend.

He 'deserved' an onside kick at 43-0??..no good sir, you are mistaken. That is where the Ute's coach made it personal. This isn't the first time Glenn has guarunteed a victory at UW and lost..so chill.
If your concerned of your kid seeing it on tv, I hope you have some better excuse for them than that...because I think your reaction would be completely diff if you were watchin it with the 'guys'.

I STILL LOVE GLENN FOR THIS! do NOT tell me to do otherwise!!

I didn't think the gaurantee was that big of a deal. Joe just got into the moment and was tryin to light a fire under the team. The onside kick was completely disrespectfull and classless. Can't wait till next year in Laramie.

Didn't say that Whittingham's move wasn't classless as well, because it was...just my thoughts on the coach's response...when you make statements like Glenn did, you invite this kind of thing to happen. I still love the POKES, it's just my 2 cents on the topic.

Yeah, nothing's guaranteed, and this should have been one of those cases, especially in their house.. but I love Glenn's fire, unfortunately this motivational tool (the guarantee or the finger) did not light that fire.

I agree, I love Glenn's passion for the Pokes and sometimes (especiallly on a day like we had Sat.) you let it get the best of you. Probably shouldn't have guaranteed a W, especially this year and in Utah, but at least he is trying anything to get them fired up. Next move FIRE COCKHILL and make Sween pay his own tuition.. :)

Saw this on someone's eGriz sig today:

"Powder River flip 'em off! If you can't beat them (even after guaranteeing it) flip them the bird."

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Wyoming coach Joe Glenn apologized Monday for making an obscene gesture to the Utah team after the Utes tried an onside kick while ahead by 43 points.

Glenn was reprimanded by the Mountain West Conference later in the day and Utah coach Kyle Whittingham acknowledged the onside kick with a 43-0 lead was a "bad decision."

Glenn, who had publicly guaranteed a victory last week, was furious when the Utes tried to get the ball right back after Louie Sakoda's 41-yard field goal with 6:21 left in the third quarter.

Wyoming recovered the onside kick and Glenn gave the finger to the Utes, who went on to win 50-0 in Salt Lake City. After the loss Saturday, Glenn said he didn't remember the gesture, but on Monday acknowledged it.
Find the crow and I'll eat it.

--Wyoming coach Joe Glenn, after he guaranteed a win over Utah -- and the Utes won 50-0.
"I met with my team on Sunday and apologized to them for the gesture I made toward the Utah bench during the game," Glenn said in a statement.

"I also want to apologize to all fans for that action. Football is an emotional game, and I let my emotions get the best of me," he said. "I felt it was appropriate for me to let my team and all fans know that I am truly sorry for that emotional moment."

Mountain West Conference officials reprimanded Glenn in a brief statement Monday afternoon after reviewing videotape of the game and speaking to Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman. The gesture was Glenn's first offense of the Mountain West's sportsmanship policy, which is subject to a reprimand, according to the league handbook.

During his news conference Monday in Salt Lake City, Whittingham said he shouldn't have called for the onside kick in a game the Utes (7-3, 4-2) were well on their way to winning.

"We had worked two weeks on it and wanted to find a spot to use it," he said. "You get caught up emotionally in a football game, you want to be competitive and the juices are flowing, but when I had a chance to digest it, if I had to do it again, I wouldn't."

Glenn said Saturday he regretted guaranteeing that the Cowboys would win. Utah fans mocked him for it late in the game by chanting "guarantee."

"I got emotional last week and got my big Irish mouth going and made the guarantee," Glenn said. "I'd probably like to have it back now. I wouldn't do it again. Find the crow, and I'll eat it."

Wyoming (5-5, 2-4) has lost four of its last five games. The Cowboys must upset conference-leading BYU on Saturday to earn a bowl bid.

I think a lesson is to be learned here.. make sure you have gourmet crow lined up when you make a bold prediction. :thumb:

That's hilarious.. I love it when people slam journalists for bad articles. That was a pretty painful article, and pretty obvious is his disgust of the University.
