Jeff Tedford to Wyoming?

I could be way off base, but if Tedford was truly interested in Wyoming I don't think he would still be hiding out in Hawaii waiting for something else to open up. He'd be back by now trying to persuade the powers that be what type of budget increases he'd require to come aboard. Maybe some of that is going on in the background, who knows.

I just think being on vacation in Hawai'i on Black Sunday was generally designed to put himself at remove from the initial whirl of the coaching carousel. If I were that guy's agent I would have advised a client who had been out of the game for the previous season to do the same thing: physically take yourself away from the mainland so that you have a built in excuse not to get very far down the road with any one opening right away.

f you were the coach at Auburn instead of Malzahn, you'd've told Davis to take a knee. You know, played it safe. After all, he could've just as easily been stripped and the ball run back by 'Bama for a touchdown, right?

You probably believe the Moon landings were all faked too. After all, something heavier than air can't fly...

I realize you're young (or at least I hope you are), but that's no excuse for being tedious.
It's not the year, it's the mileage. Nonetheless, I doubt most would consider 45 as "young".

I also have pretty extensive budgeting and fund-raising experience, so I'm not just talking about some sort of financial alchemy or or magic. That being said, financial smoke and mirrors can buy an organization quite a bit of time, and time, as we all know, is money...

Dave Christensen sure would have taken a knee. We can all guarantee that!

There are operational and capital funds still out there, I guarantee it. Raid 'em, put the contractors and creditors on notice...

Does this strike anyone else as a dangerous idea?
That, genius, is why it's called a "risk".

Yes, but one does not use the mortgage or home repair fund money to play the lottery, even if the payoff would handle all future housing expenses. I read the funds you reference as funds that have already been committed but not spent yet.

I do not want a coach who wants to stay away from "money games." I want to get money from a big-budget program to visit their place. That is when we get a chance for program-defining wins. I also think that is a better source of funding for a coach than raiding the funds set aside to complete capital projects on the academic portions of campus. The one exception to that is that I would be glad to see the legislature act to reallocate the money appropriated to downsize the A-A to a mid-major gym so that it can be used to hire coaches that will draw larger (not smaller) crowds to games.

Which is something that can be done to offset a shift of funds due to urgency and priority...
