Who said anything about a "secret pool"?

What you call "reality" others call an obstacle- something to overcome, in whatever way possible.

Nothing is more satisfying than seeing someone who says, "It can't be done," getting passed by someone doing "it".

You've receded into the mists of a fantasy land.

The University budget couldn't even afford to do the Sternberg payout deal.
I get the feeling there's not much difference, for you, between ambition and fantasy. You are beginning to sound like the "good 'nuff" poster child.

I was wondering the same thing. Could it be SnowyRange = Tom Burman?

Or a over paid trustee wanting to stay fat.

Good possibility.

FIFY...

Several of you don't like financial realities, and apparently think the University has a big machine in Old Main that prints money.

And I hate to break the news...but no such machine exists.

And that analogy belies a very fundamental incomprehension about the fungibility of budgeted funds or the reality of reserved, un-budgeted funds being held by the state that could be made available to UW. Yours is a financial flat-Earth POV.

Ok. Have it your way. The University has all sorts of money it can direct to the salary of football coaches.

But it won't. Showing its lack of commitment.

You should write a newspaper.

The university had over 4 million in a discretionary fund set aside for the president with no earmarks. The president could spend that money on whatever he wanted, including coaching salaries. The University budget is filled with these types of things as well as unspent capex money. The fact that you believe that every penny budgeted is spent proves you know very little about governmental agency budgeting. They try not to spend everything and roll the leftovers into the General fund or the endowment.

Hell - you don't even know the difference between a budget and an account / fund.

Of course, you may very well be "the eyes and ears of this institution". And for that, my hat is off.

Yep. No clue.

My sincerest apologies.

The University's failure to use its spare funds to pay for football coaches will simply be showing a lack of commitment.

So, getting back to Tedford, any new rumors?

All I hear is that it's not going to happen, because he is searching for something else.

But that's not from somebody sitting in on this, so don't take it to the bank. I just don't have my hopes up.

If you were the coach at Auburn instead of Malzahn, you'd've told Davis to take a knee. You know, played it safe. After all, he could've just as easily been stripped and the ball run back by 'Bama for a touchdown, right?

You probably believe the Moon landings were all faked too. After all, something heavier than air can't fly...

I realize you're young (or at least I hope you are), but that's no excuse for being tedious.

I think he's waiting moreso because he's on vacation with his wife in Hawaii. Would like to know how much talking he has done with Burman. I don't think hes waiting to pounce on Deruyter's job, but thats just my opinion.

I could be way off base, but if Tedford was truly interested in Wyoming I don't think he would still be hiding out in Hawaii waiting for something else to open up. He'd be back by now trying to persuade the powers that be what type of budget increases he'd require to come aboard. Maybe some of that is going on in the background, who knows.
