He just committed according to Ian, one of the last good Gowyogo posters. Both him and Ogbonna will graduate at semester and enroll on time for spring ball.

Wow, if we can get a couple more receivers and a couple of O-linemen we're set.

Wow... all of a sudden Leonard won't be our only serviceable receiver! With two fast difference makers at wideout, Leonard might not be covered by like 4 people in the future either!

I think we've got some help that's already in Laramie too. When I watched the recruiting clips from DC's first class I was very impressed with both of the tight ends we signed last year. I think with a year in the weight room, both of those guys can contribute next season.

According to the rivals database, we're on a three star wide receiver from Oklahoma named Chris McAlister. He only has two schools listed that he has high interest in: Wyoming and CSU. The lead recruiter for CSU was Pederson, who just got demoted on CSU's staff. The information may be old, but it looks like we may have more good receivers on the way.

JC..do you know anything about this kid or any other wide receiver/linemen recruits we should be looking out for?

Are you talking about T.J. Smith and David Tooley?

Apparently another TE, Matt Sebade walked on the team during spring too. He's 6'5, 225 and played football, basketball, and soccer in Lander. He was all-state in both football and soccer, which hopefully means he's pretty fast for his size :)

So next season, we could have 3 redshirt freshman tight ends, depending on if they can beat out Evers.

Yep. Those two guys. Tooley is playing this year, sparingly. I think a year in the weight room and learning the system is going to be very good for them. That's one thing that's always been a key to DC's offenses: good pass-catching tight ends. We don't have that this year. I thought Orlando Arnold was going to thrive, but he can't seem to catch the ball and he's not very good at using his size as an advantage.

If you watch tape on Smith and Tooley from high school, they bring a different level of athleticism to that position, maybe the most athleticism since Jay Novacek played tight end for us. They're basically big receivers.

It will be interesting to see, but I would expect that position to contribute a lot more catches next year then it is this year. I would be surprised if we don't end up with a three star tight end signing in this year class as well.

Hopefully they can help spring our run game as well. We definitely need good blockers, as our line seems to be having some serious issues against pretty much every single team we face.

Reading through the 2009 prospect presentation thing, I noticed Alexander ran a 10.56 100 meter dash. He never looked THAT fast to me on the field. We really need to try to get him in space more.

I would bet that once we get the receivers and linemen, we're not going to have to worry about the run game. We've got good backs. When we have linemen that can hold blocks and receivers that can get open, all of a sudden we score touchdowns when people blitz or when they put eight in the box. At that point, the backs are going to thrive.

Right now people can blitz and stack the box all day. We don't have the weapons to punish them for doing it. We do now with Ogbonna and Lester. It won't be as easy to bring the house on us next year.

Sunday morning I rode the elevator down with one of the WR recruits from Snow College. As soon as he said he was from Snow College I guessed he was a WR and told him we need all the help we can get and that we need you man. Afterward, I replayed the conversation in my head, so my fan elevator speech will be much better next time-more positive etc. I am glad to hear they both committed, otherwise I would have wondered if I could have made a difference with a better fan speech.

Off topic but.....If any of you stay in town over night for a game I strongly recommend staying at the Hilton. The morning of, you will see the players and coaches downstairs. I saw James Bates eating breakfast (you can tell he stays in shape but not very big), I even held the door open for Todd Christensen (didn't realize it was him until he was thanking me at the door-he had on jogging outfit w/ skull cap) Anyway, the Cowboy walk starts there, we got to see it start from inside the building and followed it outside, and we really enjoyed it. There were not many people around for the Cowboy Walk, and I think DC will find that so many fans come from out of town, that the fans for a noon game are still driving so the parking lot will be pretty bare for earlier games. Not sure if there is a fix for that other than playing later. We watched bball that night and saw a lot of UW dunks in about a 5 minutes stretch (UW win), then took our daughter to watch vball(UW win), so we got the bad taste out of our mouth by the time saturday was over. Still a nice family trip overall.

Nah.....don't know anything about the Oklahoma guy. Haven't heard.

As far as Moli though......let's just say that he will be here sooner than expected.

Two JC offensive tackles are being wooed big time right now. All out blitz to try and get these two. The big boys from the PAC-10 are callin too. We have a decent shot though. Athletic fellas....both can dunk with two hands and run in the 5.0 range.

Fanoga is puttin' in work.

Peace
