Bingo. No matter the hand dealt, we need to give Bohl and staff out support. I don't envy the position they are in but I trust they will make Wyoming into a winner in time.
Good post. Long term this will be a great hire. If anything, losing Thompson allows Bohl to truly start this team from the bottom up. With both QBs loses, I think most will be fair in their assessment of Bohl next season....transfers + rough 2014 schedule haven't given him the best opportunity to have instant success. Understandable.WYCowboy said:We hired Bohl because our entire football program was about as low as it could get and because he has proven he is damn good at building a good football program. That includes recruiting. I'm just going to put my confidence in his ability to get this UW Football program back up and competing, but I'm not going to be unreasonable in thinking it has to be in one year. If we don't give him a chance, he doesn't have a chance.
LOL, wrestling.stymeman said:i'm sooo frustated with this, and to go to Utah of all places, no loyalty to the program, no Cowboy Toughness anymore, I like the hire of Coach Bohl(i hope), but let's get real, maybe it time for us if this experiment with him doesn't work maybe then it's time for us to go to FCS ourselves, and focus on the D1 only in Wrestling and Basketball, and pour most of those resources into programs that truly want to try to win. I'm sorry about my rant but frustration running rampant here....aaargh

They'd be out my CJC membership. I've given a grand/year for a decade. I'd be done, and probably move to Houston.
DC' QB's in the Pro's.....chase Daniel, un drafted free agent, is the backup QB at KC. Brad Smith drafted as a wide receiver. Bret Smith......we'll see how that turns out.....hopefully in Smith's favor! Where's the loyalty to the University that gave him the opportunity, education, room and board, etc. that's loyaltyBackHarlowRoad said:I don't fault Thompson's logic one bit or loyalty one bit. He got recruited by DC to play in DC's offense. He is now following DC to another program. That IS loyalty.
He just saw the guy he worked under for a couple years get projected to go in the 2nd round of the draft running his coach's offense. He obviously wants the same goal, the NFL. He sees DC as his ticket in.

As someone who played college ball. You commit to the program and your teammates, not the coach. I question your loyalty as a Poke fan. You seem to defend any negativity brought against Wyoming.BackHarlowRoad said:I don't fault Thompson's logic one bit or loyalty one bit. He got recruited by DC to play in DC's offense. I have been through coaching changes as a player on almost every level of the game. I felt much more committed to my teammates than i ever did a coach. Honoring my commitment to my teammates was always my first priority.BackHarlowRoad said:Cornpoke said:As someone who played college ball. You commit to the program and your teammates, not the coach. For real? You question my loyalty as a fan for defending someone's right as an individual to choose which school he attends?

I hope for his sake most of his teammates didn't think much of him.
I agree. It's a different mentality for football players than what I was taught. At age 32, in my final season, I came to the conclusion the younger generation of player's has a sense of entitlement that would have never been accepted back in my prime.BackHarlowRoad said:Cornpoke said:I have been through coaching changes as a player on almost every level of the game. Well then by leaving he did us a favor, didn't he? We don't need guys like that. It's a win-win. Let's find a replacement.

And yes you can transfer without sitting out a year when your coach is fired, or leaves for another school.

I'm glad to see the hate for all things UTAH is still going strong on this board and with your fan base.
GO UTES!!
Screw you! How is the PAC12 treating you? Good to see so many conference championships for the Utes.big z said:nePOKE45 said:Why would Thompson see Utah differently than any other school? He wasn't at Wyoming long enough to be forced into playing at that god awful place they call SLC.

Watch what you say about dropping down to FCS. I get killed for that.
