We hired Bohl because our entire football program was about as low as it could get and because he has proven he is damn good at building a good football program. That includes recruiting. I'm just going to put my confidence in his ability to get this UW Football program back up and competing, but I'm not going to be unreasonable in thinking it has to be in one year. If we don't give him a chance, he doesn't have a chance.

Good post. Long term this will be a great hire. If anything, losing Thompson allows Bohl to truly start this team from the bottom up. With both QBs loses, I think most will be fair in their assessment of Bohl next season....transfers + rough 2014 schedule haven't given him the best opportunity to have instant success. Understandable.

i'm sooo frustated with this, and to go to Utah of all places, no loyalty to the program, no Cowboy Toughness anymore, I like the hire of Coach Bohl(i hope), but let's get real, maybe it time for us if this experiment with him doesn't work maybe then it's time for us to go to FCS ourselves, and focus on the D1 only in Wrestling and Basketball, and pour most of those resources into programs that truly want to try to win. I'm sorry about my rant but frustration running rampant here....aaargh

Thompson didn't grow up a Poke. Everything we offered to him he is still getting, it's not like we bent over backwards for the kid...we offered what everyone else does.

At the end of the day the is a non issue. The big news already happened with Brett leaving. With all due respect to Jason, the kid started one college game in a losing effort and was not recruited by any other programs to play QB. Whoever starts under center for us will have a grand total of one less games worth of experience than Jason.

I agree. It's a different mentality for football players than what I was taught. At age 32, in my final season, I came to the conclusion the younger generation of player's has a sense of entitlement that would have never been accepted back in my prime.

Hate, are you kidding, I love you guys? I want to send you guys a fucking fruit basket for taking Christensen off our hands. He has been a useless twat for years. By the end of next season you'll have another ex-coordinator on your staff when he's demoted to tight end coach after he fucks your offense over. That is if your entire staff doesn't get canned. Meh.... Yeah three in a Big Boy conference has been a challenge talk to me in year 5 and we'll see how it's going. Who knows by then you guys most likely will be playing in the Big Sky.

Watch what you say about dropping down to FCS. I get killed for that.

We already are in that process. It isn't technically FCS and isn't with the likes of Montana and NDSU, but make no mistake, we are in a lower tier. I expect about 5-10 years before it is more "official", but we are already there.
