IWFW Craig Bohl

I would like to begin by stating that I am a big fan of Dave Walsh -- how could you not be? Dave is a class act no doubt, and he's represented Wyoming exceptionally well throughout his terrific career as the 'voice of the Cowboys.'

However one thing I've noticed on the IWF With Craig Bohl show each week, is that Dave is perpetually happy, almost glowing each week I see him. Has anyone else noticed this? Every day seems to be Christmas for Dave...his enthusiastic optimism is infectious I guess, because each time I watch that show I'm in a better mood than before I viewed it.

He gets paid a whole lot of money to talk about sports. I would be pretty ecstatic too. In all seriousness though, part of his job is putting a positive spin on things and keeping the fanbase from burning the town down; it's a tough job but someone's got to do it.

I met Dave about 20 years ago at a bar (Mulligan's I believe) in Laramie. Hell of a nice guy.

I actually made a post about this same topic a few weeks back.

Dave's level of enthusiasm struck me as very odd then, and has continued to with each episode. The way he looks into the camera with those wild eyes before the breaks is downright hilarious/scary…I can't decide which.

Bohl's demeanor has changed dramatically as the episodes have progressed. He looked very confused and concerned after the UND game, but seems to be gaining confidence back.

I've watched a couple and noticed Dave is upbeat and Craig is down in the dumps, can't say as I/we blame him

Putting a positive spin on a losing team is incredibly rough. Rockies are losing one guy who just can't do it anymore, and Avalanche color commentator Mark Rycroft also said the team better do well this season or he might not have it in him to do another season. At least with College Football you only have 12-13 games to deal with, I can't imagine being the guy for a perpetually sucky MLB team. With CFB you also get a full week to attempt to recover from the last atrocity.

One thing that annoys me about dave walsh is how he gets so excited whenever its beyong a 15 yard pass, even when its an incompletion, even if the ball is no where near a reciever. Its like the annoucer in baseball who thinks every fly ball is a homerun. Watch for it next time your listening.

That being said i do enjoy 90 percent of his call, and he does have a great( not good) radio voice.

When we interviewed Dave on our podcast a few months ago he was even excited for that. It was a terrific interview.
