It is only hitting me now....

.....that UNLV is 4-2 (2-0). That is not a misprint. Rebels could be bowl bound this year. Again, not a misprint.

I believe that it is the first time UNLV has been 2-0 in the MWC ever. UNLV put up 56 against New Mexico on the road and won by 14.

Still an outside shot that we play UNLV this year! ...but that outside shot will probably go away after this weekend when UNLV travels to Fresno

I looked at this as well - then had to dig a little deeper, because UNLV sucks:

First 6 Games:

at Minnesota Golden Gophers Lost 51-23
Arizona Wildcats Lost 58-13
Central Michigan Chippewas Won 31-21
Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks Won 38-7
at New Mexico Lobos Won 56-42
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Won 39-37

So, really, with the exception of the NM win, they have nothing. Especially after how good we made NM look in Laramie this last Saturday.

Further, look at the next 6 (I don't see a win in there anywhere for UNLV - maybe at AFA?):

At Fresno
At Nevada
SJSU
USU
At AFA
SDSU

With their QB change it has breathed life into their offense. Their D is extremely suspect. But so is the majority of the conferences D's. We saw what Haw did to Fresno, if their not careful Unlv's momentum might be the first to finally break the camels back in a shootout win. Nevada is a rival and you always play them tougher. They could win this in a shootout as well. Shoot Nevada let AFA put up 42 on them. SJSU has not proven to stop anyone either. And AFA I think has pretty much given up the ghost this year. I may be wrong, but their play has seriously dwindled. That is a potential 4 more wins. That is optimistic, however, it can be done. More likely I think they will take it to Nevada and AFA. And will put up a valiant effort against Fresno and SJSU. I can definitely see them being bowl eligible by years end. It's not like they don't have talent down there. Herring has been a shot in the arm for them. Cornett has been a consistent threat all year and I believe it's Davis at we. He is extremely reliable and is a play maker. I think he's second in the conf in receiving yards.

Where were you for the historic UNLV win over 0-5 Hawaii??

At least you can buy the commemorative t-shirt

44 yard field goal, last second, at home, against what probably is the worst team in the MWC. I don't think (again) they get 2 more wins out of the last 6 games.
