Is the ACS discussion on the "other" board...

DC just said on KBFC SportsZone that there is nothing to the rumors of ACS coming back.

My only question...why not say this when first asked about it after the spring game?

Don't get me wrong, I hope DC succeeds at UW, but I don't trust that guy as far as I can throw him. He has no qualms about lying to fans and media if he feels it's "the best thing for the team". Right or wrong, thats just the way the guy operates.

How'd he lie? Unless I'm missing something, he was only vague in his first response.

I'm not saying he lied in this specific instance. He did, however, lie about the ACS "injury" before the TCU game and also about the media access to practices this year. Hence, my distrust of anything the guy says.

Evidently, Gagliardi also texted ACS for a comment from him. ACS's response was that he could not confirm nor deny the rumor. Personally, I don't think there's anything to that and ACS was just playing around with Gags with his response. I don't think there are a whole lot of people knocking on ACS's door saying come play for us.

ACS probably had to say that he couldn't confirm or deny because if he did and that info went out into the wild he'd never get recruited anywhere. So best to keep his options open in this case.

I personally believe DC was so taken aback by the question that he didn't know what to say or how to address it. He has already stated that he wasn't ever going to address this situation again after it all went down so when the reporter asked him about it he looked very surprised and looked like "How on earth am I going to respond to this?"

It's no secret DC has a "strained" relationship with the media and looks as if he doesn't like to share anything with them. His perrogative and he can share what he wants. He likes a tight ship and I can respect that and hates controversy of any kind, and probably views it as a unwanted distraction, which again, I can respect. Most reporters only want a story and will get one whether they have his blessing or not. I don't blame him for being not forthcoming in every circumstance if he sees that it is in the best interest of the team. :coffee:

Agreed, from what I've read it sounds like textbook coach speak....lets talk about the players on our team....blah, blah, blah....get over it. Discussing the rumor has the potential to do no good so why respond either way, he wanted to discuss the scrimmage that just ended, makes perfect sense to me. Personally I like that our coach is more concerned about winning than being everyone's friend.
