Is Philip Nelson looking at Wyoming?

There are multiple rumors that he is considering transferring to Wyoming from Minnesota.

Could he be the other qb that Bohl is going after?

Nelson would be an amazing get...but like kd, the only rumors of that happening have been wishful posts on this forum.

There are some on the Gopher thread talking about Wyoming. There's a couple of Gopher fan tweets about it. It's in the comments section of a couple of articles about his transfer. Like I said, it's rumor, but there certainly appears to be some credence to the rumor. I've been scouring the internet for the last half hour trying to find something more concrete, but so far, I can just find rumor.

Here's the first rumor I saw that started me on this quest...

Here's another rumor in the comments section of this article...

What I learned: there's an article about TT leading in getting him, but they want him to walk-on. He has a list of five division 1 schools he's looking at but that list isn't out yet. It doesn't say anything about transferring down, so I imagine he's trying to stay FBS. It seems like we're on his short list.

He released a statement to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that said he was “looking to play in a system that centers more around the pass game which utilizes my skill sets.”

I don't believe we are planning on centering our game more to the pass than Minnesota.

Minnesota ran the ball a lot. It won't be difficult to find a school that throws it more.

I don't know why everyone thinks Wyoming's offense is a running offense. It isn't. The West Coast offense is a passing offense. The version of if Bohl runs is smashmouth with power running, but it's still a passing offense. The games I watched of NDSU had great balance, but they aired it out a lot.

Yeah, that's another one I saw that I couldn't find the link for. Thanks.

Here's another one from Bisonville posted two days ago...

There is no doubt in my mind that we will be passing the ball with Bohl at the helm. I think it will depend on our new QB.

You would think there has to be some substance to this rumor.

1. The rumors are coming out of Minnesota.
2. NDSU fans, who seem to be very up to date on Bohl's recruiting, are saying it as well.
3. It would be a good fit.

You mean the Division 2 (FCS)? I am not sure when people are going to realize that this is Division 1 (FBS).....for now...until Bohl and the blue hairs get Wyoming dropped down to the FCS.

Uhm, FCS IS div1. So is FBS.

I hope whoever we get realizes they have one helluva schedule to showcase whatever talent they think they may have.

A non-JUCO transfer will likely not be able to play next year at Wyoming.
