Is it smart for Hill to stay?

Here's another way to look at this situation. What type of legacy does Brian Hill want to leave behind at the University of Wyoming? I know you guys have been talking about $$$$, which is completely valid, but there is something to be said about the trajectory of this team and Hill's role in it. Personally, if the Pokes win the MWCC this year I think Hill should declare hands down. Not only will he have set the highest marks in Cowboy football history, but he will also be a champion. If they fall short, then I think he should consider staying another year. All the money in the world will never replace great life time memories/accomplishments. Just my two cents. Either way I'm a B. Hill fan for life and knew he would do great things for WYO the first time I saw his Hudl highlights when he was recruited.

If Hill has a legit chance to make the NFL next year (I think he does), it's in his best interest to take it.

Don't turn down your dream job b/c you really like your internship.

This draft is full of good running backs which will make it difficult to go early and get that big first contract. Staying another year has risks involved, but he can attempt to solidify himself as an earlier pick. It's hard to project the next draft which may end up being just as competitive at the running back position or very weak which would be awesome for Hill.

I expect Hill to be a mid round pick in both drafts. He's going to get some major money as long as he stays healthy. Declaring early is the best choice in my opinion since he will get to his second and third contracts a year younger which will increase his earnings potential. This team could be a 0 to 2 loss conference champion next year with him and Allen, but he should think of himself and his family first. He's not Alvester Alexander. He's a lock to make an NFL roster. Everyone will be thrilled if he stays, but we understand why he would leave early and will continue to root for him like every Cowboy post-UW.
