Is it dirty? My uncle coaches Pocatello high

So my uncle used to coach Snake River High in Idaho and won a lot of state titles and had some huge win streak, like 50 or 80. So he coaches Pocatello High now and faced off against the stud school Highland. They had a stud QB that was committed to Stanford. He was the kicker and QB. My uncle wants to wear him out and get in his head a little and does this......

Dirty? Never once flagged. I'm on the fence still. In one respect, I think that it's not flagged, so what's the problem. In the other, I think that there should be some sort of roughing the kicker penalty. Heck, they are protected on FG's and punts, but shouldn't there be some sort of buffer after a kickoff? Here is some more discussion:

Football talk is a little dead these days with no verbals lately. Just thought I would bring up an issue in football about dirty plays. I'm sure stuff like this happens in different places. If you want to be a fag about it, don't respond.

I think it fine. We should have done it against Louie Sakoda (SP?) when the Utes ran up the score and the onside kick ordeal.

Easy, man. I only asked because you made it sound like it just happened.

I think that the rule about waiting 5 yards is fair, but if it didn't get flagged then that's the ref's problem, not the team's.

Your uncle is a punk. These are kids. Just because it wasn't called, it's still a foul. He's lucky, or should I say his players are lucky, that the other coach had more class and didn't instruct his players to take late vicious hits on his QB the rest of the game in retaliation. Let's face it he did this because he was the QB not the kicker. It wasn't as if the other team was running up the score, it was the opening kick off.

The problem is that it isn't a foul that wasn't called, it's just not a foul. Bush league yeah, but I'm not sure if there was any prior history that my uncle was trying to settle or if he was just trying to get a few extra shots in on their QB. I believe the next time they tried it, one of the cover guys submarined the guy going after the kicker.

Just as marcus said, I would have loved to see us lay out Louise Sakoda in the same fashion after they kicked the onside kick. Well, I don't really fault the player, actually I would have like to have done the whole toss sweep right like on "necessary roughness" taking out Wittinham!

I'm pretty sure it's a foul, as the kicker to become part of the cover team has to advance 5 yards. On the video, he does not make it to the 45 yard line. I too would have liked to see someone take Wittingham down. That would have been one for the ages! I don't think we'll see anyone trying this with Schober.

Hahahaha.....that's no joke. That's funny, good one. They would end up with Da Boot in their ass!

And I must admit, I was one calling for the sweep right on Whitlessham. I also like the intentional incomplete in Kyle's face. Seems immature now, but when I was pissed at the time I could have gone all out on all of them. As a player, I would have wanted to do it........As a coach, I would have wanted to do it, but wouldn't want to put that on my players to do it......As a fan I would have wanted it in the moment. It still irks me, Kyle was such a jerk, I am glad Utah got smoked at home by TCU and worked by Boise stopping their bowl winning streak.
