Is coach Shyatt retiring after the season?

Quote from Larry after the game.

“Trust me, I’m not a dumb guy,” he said. “My wife will get a little upset because she doesn’t want me getting fined, so I’m not going to get fined. I’ve got a date picked out.”

I hope not.

I don't get how you come to the conclusion that he's retiring at all from that quote.

He just inked a new contract. He's not going anywhere for a bit. I do think he will voice his displeasure after the season is over. Right now, a fine and suspension is not what this team needs. However, after the dust settles in March, I think he will have plenty to say.

No conclusion made just seemed strange that's all.

According to the Mountain West’s handbook’s Rule 4.4.5 — Public Criticism — the consequence of a second offense is: “Suspension for at least one contest and public announcement through standard Conference channels. The penalty shall not exceed one season of competition.”

Final game so there are no games to get suspended from and it can't carry over to the next season.
If we make the CBI or somehow put together another miracle run in Vegas and go dancing again, could he be suspended for the postseason? Or can Craig only do that during the regular season/MWC games?

The Hair and MW officials will find a way, no matter when, to try and squash Shyatt's putting them in their place.

You can bet on this! I am very suspicious of the MWC Commissioner's motives and loyalties.

+1 It's more than suspicious I think it's rather obvious on his motives.

Well I guess it wasn't that far fetched was it.

Nope, you flat nailed that one. I stand corrected. I shouldn't be surprised, Shyatt left a year after signing his first contract with UW back when.....now, he hauls ass after inking his new deal. I see a pattern, haha. Good call sir.

Strange it is we get our news from Billings and Albuquerque. Not a whisper from our esteemed beat writers on this mind numbing development. Man, I was thinking Burman was finally history- that would have been a huge benefit for our beleaguered fan base. Edwards is a good choice for stabilizing this squad and he's got to recognize the deficiency in our recruiting efforts of late. Sadly, we still have bad leadership across the board in key positions affecting the Cowboy Brand.
