Interesting Statistic Regarding Spending

Haha, suck it csu...some interesting things to grab from that, I'm surprised that Rice and SMU spend that much and still suck every year.

No surprise but spending and winning are highly correlated.

I re-sorted by just G5 and then ran correlation stats. The correlation value dropped to 0.4. I'm not sure that my method is exactly kosher because the rankings still consider all of CFB rather than just G5 so take it FWIW.

Either way, usu does pretty good for their budget.

What's amazing is that we are considered overachievers with:
6-6
5-7
4-8
7-6
3-9
8-5
4-8
5-7
4-8
2-10

Exactly!!!!! This is the exact argument Ive been trying to get people to see about basketball recruiting. We do over achieve with lower budget/recruites and we are really happy about it. Why???? Why can't we expect better budgets/recruits and want better results? I don't get that mentality?? Why do we accept lower, cause we are from low population Wyoming? I don't know, I don't get it?? Are we just so used to being at the bottom so that's who we are?? I know there is a debate about leadership in the administration (I know nothing about anyone in there), but we need a change of direction at the top and we need a change of attitude from the people around the state. Its not all administration at UW, we have too many people in this state that just don't support UW having a D1 athletics program. Hell, we have people on this site who lobby everyday against us being D1. Until we have a total culture change from within the university and the state, we will never take the next step.

Nearly 20 years of irrelevance has nasty side effects.

That includes our President. But it's the same mentality with our BOT and administration.

This is not a coach or athlete problem. It's a problem at the top that not many care to fix. The apathy flows downhill and it stinks.

The source of 20 years of futility in WYO athletics can be summed up easily:
