Interesting quote from Rocky Long

From the Albuquerque Journal Interview w/ Rocky Long (Rocky Talks):

AJ: "How hard was it for you to make that decision (resigning), knowing that you have a coaching staff that depends on you for their employment?"

Rocky: "To me, that was the only hard part of the decision (to resign). I think this choice is best for the program, and ultimately this program is more important than me or the assistant coaches and the players in the program are the most important thing. So if I think it gives the players a better chance to be successful, that far outweighs the effect it has on coaches. Coaches understand that when they get in the business, it can be over at any time. Coaches handle it in different ways. Most coaches handle it in a professional manner and understand that its part of the business and they're OK with it. Some other coaches don't understand it at all and take it personal. The ones that don't understand and take it personal didn't have the program's best interest at heart anyway."

Put your own meaning behind his comments about coaches and the coaching business...as it pertains to UW...but I think he (generally) makes a couple of good points.

Oh, and hey bWHYu...glad you finished 3rd, wish it was 9th :finger:
