Wyoming Has Interest in Hoke
October 6, 2008

Sources within the Wyoming athletic department tell Football Rumor Mill that Ball State Coach Brady Hoke could be near the top of the list to replace the soon to be fired Joe Glenn.

Glenn’s Cowboys are currently 2-4 after a 24-0 loss to New Mexico Saturday night. The Wyoming Coach is number five on FRM’s HOT SEAT LIST this week. (http://www.footballrumormill.com/hot-seats/)

As for Brady Hoke, most of the coach’s ties are in Ohio and Michigan, although he did spend five seasons at Oregon State. No word yet on Hoke’s interest in the position.

I hope not. If there is a change, I want an offensive genious...an up & comer...somebody with some imagination and fire.

Wow. All this time I have been mentioning his name as a possible replacement and come to find out it could happen. Don't I feel like the smart one? lol j/k I think we need a coach who can get the most out of mediocre recruits but can also bring in a play maker or two.

What Hoke has done at a shithole like Ball St. is not to be underestimated.

I agree with one thing...Ball State is a shithole. Not sure about how successful Ball State has been since his tenure...I mean, they squeaked into the Spam Bowl last year.

I don't see how we could consider a coach from Ball St., given that Joe Glenn's track record coming to Wyoming is probably better.

I think we need someone who is both, like Calhoun able to do great things with limited resources and talent, but also someone who will eventually do great things with better recruits. I don't care what type of style offense we run, option, spread, pro-set, whatever as long as we win - soon. Who is the best coach available, that is who we need, whatever the price. (easy for me to say, I don't have to write the checks)
