Inexpensive (kind of) Stadium Enhancement...

I think UW should look into putting in surround - style sound & mid-level light boards - similar to Sports Authority (and many other places). Lose the endzone speaker system, and liven up the separation between the lower & upper decks. What a great enhancement, for a minimal cost. Oh, and renovate the lower west side concourse as well - what a dungeon.

a ribbon board would be pretty sweet

but yeah....running sound through the stadium is an absolute must

also.....we need our old cannon back

Very good ideas; I wonder what the cost would be.

Also, since Burman brought it up and stated anything he does on the football (men's) side he has to do on the women's. Any increases in recruiting also have to go to women's if I understood that correctly.

I'm assuming facility updates are not included in that?

I think we're way overdue for both. Should be a way to get the cost mostly covered up front through sponsorship and ad trade-out.

I also think we'd be perfect for pioneering in-game apps as experience enhancements- i.e. replays, stats, etc., right on your smart phone or tablet as well as concession ordering apps. Costs on such things aren't ridiculously high, especially if we could set up a beta-testing trade for the technology (allow a developer and carrier to use our stadium as the guinea pig in return for getting the initial software and hardware for free).

Great ideas. All of them should be easy enough to subsidize and would really improve the in-game experience.

And a HUGE +1 on getting the old cannon back. Who do we email about that?

They need to do something with the sound in the stadium. Its really annoying hearing them play their music as loud as they can until the speakers crack. More speakers - less volume.

I like the light board idea - even add some scrolling Marquee's or something.

One word: advertising. The ribbon boards would be used to generate some more revenue. The one's at FedEX Field are constantly bombing you with ads and well as other displays related to the game.

I say go for it.

The light boards I've seen also are set to flash very disruptively during the opponents 3rd and long or 4th down situations.

Good idea. :thumb:
