We're about out of time for offensive reinforcements
What’s your assessment?

I didn’t see anything that makes me feel like we will put up bigger numbers (on paper anyway). Maybe better at QB and some depth at RB along with a decent OL addition. The TE transfer???

Will those players help transform the offense with a different scheme? Maybe some better coaching won’t hurt. Was the program loaded with offensive talent that was not utilized all because of the OC and QB?

Just not seeing anything that makes me feel excited where I am expecting an increase of the win total to 6+. It’s probably because Sawful, Burman and the current college athletics world at a place like Wyoming make excitement evaporate.

I agree for the most part but one area you didn't mention and that was the WR position. Without serious upgrade here it will be very difficult to make other parts of the offense more successful. I do feel however that it will be a wait and see how the new offense blends in. I have to say that the offense at UW has been so moribund for so long and we have lived through so many statements that they are making the offense better and it never seems to actually ever succeed like other offenses in America it is hard to believe another list of stuff that will make the offense actually work.

BigHorn did a great job for me. It's a matter of how many breaks do or do not go our way and situational football between 4-7 wins. I don't see anything that really moved the needle overall. It's looking like the lame duck year we were afraid of.

Per Cody, he now lists OT Braylon Jenkins as one of 6 players that has announced he is staying for next season. I know that this is important because he is a very highly thought of young OL. There are now 3 new OL in this incoming class from the Transfer Portal. Evidently Tripodi said he needed a number of new guys with experience after the loses the Pokes suffered from the Transfer Portal and graduation. Wyoming lost both guys listed at the Center position, Welch from graduation and Sandy to the Transfer Portal. Chandler Donaway is listed as being able to play the Center position, so he might be our new Center, but there is also a young man, Johnathan Bush (Fr. Redshirt, 6'-2" 315, Whitehouse, TX.) that redshirted this last season for the Pokes, and he has been mentioned. We also signed OG - Jeremiah Katt who came in this last week for a visit from Northern Arizona, and originally from Mesa, AZ.. Add these guys to OG - Jason Maciejczak, a transfer from Nebraska and the OL for next year will look a lot different from last season. There are still guys that are on the roster that will be battling for spots this coming spring, Rex Johnson has been playing a lot, and Jake Davies, Brandt Rice, Kalvin Janssen, Giovanni Panozzo, Wyatt Walters, Quinn Grovesteen-Matchey, and Josiah Petaia. So it will be a lively competition on the OL for at least 4 of the positions.

Wyoming just signed a WR, Justin Popovich, a 6'-3" young man from Loch Haven (yes, I had to look that up to see where it is!), Loch Haven is a small school in Pennsylvania, and he is coming in as a Junior I believe. He is originally from Louisville, KY., and last season he caught 55 balls for 686 yards and 6 TD's. This looks like an offer to a real unknown. Who knows, but he doesn't appear to be a burner type, but more in the mode of Jackson Holman, a 6'-3" WR from Arizona/California. I of course don't know what the coaches are thinking, but this is a little of a head scratcher in my book. We still need another WR in my book, but who knows????

One other thought, now that the Bills lost yesterday, it appears that our new OC Christian Taylor will be now free to join the Pokes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more signees, but who knows???
