Ok student section: Your energy is amazing during the game and I don't think their is a better student section in the country when out in force. But, when we only have two losses on the season and one of those losses are against a good Boise State team at the buzzer, you really don't have to storm the court after beating a ranked opponent.

Storming the court is for winning conference championships or beating a top 10 team when you are the obvious underdog. Wyoming is good this year and as such the fans shouldn't storm the court unless it's for a conference title. Now on to another rant, what is the point of saying the other team is over rated and then turning around and storming the court after you beat them? If you really think they are over rated then you don't ever storm the court. Why diminish how great a win is by saying the other team really isn't very good.

I'm off my soap box now :) I was there and it was fun to watch the pokes beat a ranked opponent in the AA for the second time this year.
 
I don't have a problem with it when they are a ranked team. We are not ranked and there is a lot of turmoil after this last week so let us celebrate. If we were ranked or SDSU wasn't then it would be dumb, but let the students celebrate a big win with their fellow students who just beat the #15 team in the country.
 
Overrated Cheer. I was telling people there is no point in doing it.
Storming the court. Well, it was fun, but I doubt that we will be doing it much more this season. Except for the final game of the season when we win the MWC the night we play the sheep.
 
Today is a good day - the biggest complaint on the message boards is the student section storming the court. I'll take it! You don't have to look back more than 2 years to find really big issues to complain about (or 2 weeks for that matter). This is just a by-product of a program headed towards the top.

This is a good problem to have. Now if it happened in games against unranked opponents, then I'd agree with you. But guess what, this happens when we beat ranked teams. When we are unranked and they are, there is nothing wrong with this.

No shit 2 years ago this is what you would have read in the Wyoming News

After another loss, Wyoming appears to be in a rut. On January 15th on their home court, the Cowboys fell to the Utes, 68-51, in Mountain West action.
Unfortunately, this was a game the Cowboys were expected to win. Utah had a much better RPI ranking than Wyoming, #136 to #250. The Cowboys should have gotten a boost playing on our home court, and the Utes were slumping, losing 5 out of 5. A year ago Wyoming went 1-1 against Utah. Going back four years, we're 4-6 against the Utes including 3-2 at Arena-Auditorium. In the last 30 years of the long history of games against the Utes, our record is still good, 32-30.

Utah controlled the game by dominating rebounding and three pointers.

Instead our complaint is students who have never enjoyed rushing the court are being ridiculed for doing it, It'll take it!
 
I'm with ya wyo2dal! Losses suck, wins rock. We are winning more than we are losing. Hell, next win, I'll storm the court with them! (or maybe not)

Lets enjoy it. Weak schedule or not, we are playing some tough basketball, and its time to kick back and enjoy the positives instead of fighting over the negatives.

On a side note, lets hope the football team builds up a defense this winter, our offense is nice, now if we can slow em down!

I say rush the court for every win for all I care! Seriously, if the students are into the game and it looks like finally after years the student section is back let them have their fun.
 
Storming the court was fine for after the game this time. As for the over rated chant ts is just dumb no matter what team you root for. Just act as if your team is under rated and was supposed to win.

I hate the overrated cheer.

If they are overrated then our win over them isn't as good.
 
I agree, the "overrated" chant doesn't bring with it much logic, but if it gets under the opponents skin then that is what matters.

If we wanna get under their skin let's do it before the game or at the beginning.
Not the end, after the game is clearly ours.
