Illinois- Wyoming game thread

I don’t think Illinois looks unbeatable. Our offense was worse than I had hoped. No running it very well either
 
Once again my preseason irrational exuberance has been crushed. I guess I just can’t help but be hopeful until reality smacks me.

Was there anything in that first half that would give us a glimmer of hope? If so I can’t think of it.

My only glimmer of hope is that we're gonna be such a dumpster fire that change comes sooner rather than later.

I tempered my preseason enthusiasm this year (most of it is going to basketball instead) and yet still am disappointed even with my much lowered expectations because I think we look even worse on offense, defense, and even special teams than I thought we would be.
 
Reese Monaco said he caught up with Bohl and assistants in the tunnel, first thing they said is defense needs to be better. To be clear, the defense is playing terrible too, but how you could not see that the offense was worse. Do they really think 3 points, 5 first downs, and 0 fer whatever on 3rd down isn't the biggest problem?
 
And the punter thing...I knew it reeked. Fawaz must have either totally shit the bed in the off-season, or he did something to piss off Bohl. I'm leaning towards the latter. Then again, I'm seriously beginning to think Bohl is really terrible at evaluating players if they don't play defense.

This has been Bohl's MO since day 1. Never speak of the offense and throw the defense under the bus at every opportunity.
 
We’re a TO from being back in this. Not much pressure so I don’t have lots of hope. No 3rd conversions
 
Was hoping bohl would go for 4th and 1 at the 50. I was only kidding myself. Conservative Bohl will always opt for the 25 yard punt in that situation
