Ike hit the wall….

He's just gassed. They played a TON of games in a short amount of time, and he was in for the majority of them. This break before the tourney is much needed.

This. And, it is hack-a-shaq all over again these days. MWC coaches aren't dumb...they are going to go with what works (and worked at NM, at UNLV, vs. SDSU, and at CSspew), and hammer the shit out of Ike to frustrate him. Fresno accomplished it as well with the #53 DBag, as to why they came close...

Young kids recuperate pretty rapidly. I think Ike will be well rested and motivated Thursday afternoon. UNLV could be in for a real battle in the rematch.

X and Oden (maybe Wenzel but I'm not holding my breath) are going to be the difference makers. I don't think Ike and Maldo have any more 30 point efforts in them and that is what it will take without X or Oden showing up. Ike, Maldo, and Jeffries are they guys that defenses are worried about. If none of those three go off (which seems likely since defenses have figured out how to contain them), we need to have a more spread out scoring distribution.

It's starting to look like Craig Bohl calling another A-gap run with Ike and Maldo post-ups against a defense geared up to stop it. It may still be our best option though.

I think Maldonado has a game left in him. To me and after listening to the Hunter Thompson interview on 1240 AM - it just doesn't seem like he is coming back and thus will leave it all the line.

BTW - I hope he returns. I am just doubtful that he does.

If Maldo balls out and takes us to a couple wins... What a story... I'm rooting for it!
