If WYO actually cared, who are your ad and hc?

What about Rich Rod? We'd probably have another nepotistic deal with his son and daughter but I'd bet 1.5 or 1.6 could lure him away. Not sure about this one but could be an option

There are a lot of HC candidates out there...the AD just needs to work to find the right one.

I do not trust Burman to make that next hire, and haven't since the Schroyer debacle.

Personally...Pat Shurmer would be on my list of HC candidates. As would Scottie Hazelton, amongst many others. Shame that Burman never really kicked the tires on anyone worth a damn.

THe main thing is just stop running it like a family reunion. And there is always this sentiment we can't find people that will come to Wyoming. For $550k and $1.2 million which are the existing salaries of the people with the jobs you would find very capable and talented people that will live in Laramie, Wyoming.
I'll do both jobs for $850k

Shurmur makes $825,000 as OC at Colorado. Would probably require a Bohl type salary which should be very doable if we didn’t have this monstrosity of a contract with Sawvel.

Hazelton makes $1.2 million per year as a ‘special assistant’ at Texas. It’s wild that Texas has ‘special assistants’ making more than MWC head coaches.

Paul Simmons probably makes about $300K at Harding.

I would agree that Cockhill was one of the worst coordinators at Wyoming. Maybe the worst. Arroyo isn’t far behind.

I was never on the ‘fire Vigen and watch our offense improve bandwagon.’ Bohl ran the offense to execute his gameplan.
half of bohl's defensive was clock control and keeping the offense on the field for long periods of time, even if they didn't score. Kept the defense rested and they performed well.

Did Rolovich get blackballed from college football after Washington St fired him for not getting the vaccine?

Mike Marlow the AD at NAU would be a huge upgrade over the country bumpkin Burman

look at the hire he just made this offseason for FB... And the high altitude performance center he raised funds for.... And the fact that NAU consistently ranks among the top 2-3 Big Sky athletics departments year-to-year

so tired of seeing WYO teams play in these second-tier postseason tournaments. Seems it is an annual tradition for WYO volleyball, women's tennis, men's golf, etc to pay to play in non-NCAA Tournament postseason events

Burman is a total joke. Just a throwback to the good 'ole days when college athletics was a country club-type environment. He is not up to the task of running a department in this new landscape

as far as coach? I have no idea. I would trust a good AD to make a hire. Frankly I think WYO is not that appealing of a job these days but a good AD could find a diamond in the rough

I can't emphasize enough how hard I am going to celebrate the day Burman is no longer AD at Wyoming

he is the problem and so are a lot of the administrators he's kept by his side for 10+ years now. The fact no other FCS program has hired away any of the Senior Associate AD types who have been working alongside him is a big red flag

I believe WYO had a guy who left for Fresno St and is now AD at Eastern Washington. He could be a good AD candidate given his fundraising prowess. But he had to leave WYO to get his current gig

sigh nothing is going to improve so long as Burman is running the show like we're still in the stone age

A homerun AD hire would be Todd Stewart, the current AD at Western Kentucky.

The dude has made four head coaching hires for football in his time there. Two of those coaches were hired away by Power 5 programs because of their success at WKU (Bobby Petrino who left for Louisville and Jeff Brohm who left for Purdue). Most recent hire was Tyson Helton who has won at least 8 games in four out of the five seasons he has been there and is on his way to another 8+ win season this year.

We would probably need to offer him more money than Burman is making to get him though.
