If WYO actually cared, who are your ad and hc?

AD - good question
HC - Curt Cignetti, FB through a real HC search last year

Hell, at this point, Sheridan or East HS coaching staff would work as well

Hire a HC from the MAC, Sun Belt or CUSA. Need someone with HC experience. No coordinators ever again.

Maybe Vigen. Can’t believe I wrote that.

AD? National search. Someone from far outside Wyoming

YES!!

THe main thing is just stop running it like a family reunion. And there is always this sentiment we can't find people that will come to Wyoming. For $550k and $1.2 million which are the existing salaries of the people with the jobs you would find very capable and talented people that will live in Laramie, Wyoming.

AD- not sure - I think Burman’s heart is in the right place, it’s just that he listens to that sometimes more than his head.
HC- Marcus Arroyo. I know, I know, most will think I’m crazy, but he has a lot of positives in his pocket. Knows the conference, would keep Javon, and would help us move on from a Bohl style offense. And I truly believe much of UNLV’s success was due to the athletes he was able to bring in. Oden had a pretty well stocked cupboard when he was hired. Plus, look at Arizona State’s success this year offensively!
Most importantly, just open it up as a search this time!

I wouldn’t want to pass on Vigen unless a proven successful candidate such as the coach currently at Liberty who came from Coastal Carolina.

My reason for Vigen is not limited to the success he has had at Montana State although an important component, it has a lot to do when Vigen inherited the job, he had a weak returning QB and a head case transfer from NC State. The obvious better QB was the NC State transfer that just about beat Bohl in Laramie. As that season progressed the NC State transfer was benched in favor of Tommy Mellot a true freshman QB from the state of Montana as Vigen chose the long term success of the program over appeasing personalities.

That tells me Vigen obviously understands you have to have solid QB play and offensive players. And - it appears that Vigen has dependable coordinators as the entire program runs like a unit as compared to the Sawville clusterf#@$ that can’t prepare anything better than a stinking pile of vile game plan with a bye week to implement it on both sides of the ball.

As for AD, I like the idea of someone that is younger, completely removed from Wyoming with nothing but successful hires on their resume. Who cares if they only stick around for a few years and leave in the middle of the night for a P4 school just like I would expect with a successful coach. I would rather be a stepping stone for success than be stomped on out of fear of not being able to recover from an immediate departure. The way recruiting is now a first year coach with resources can assemble success almost overnight.

Instead we go so scared to make a move it speaks loudly success is something that is expected to be a struggle.

Bringing Vigen back would be rich. I would rank Vigen #1 on the Most Reviled Wyoming Coordinator List of the past 20 years. Little Bohl is hated currently but he would have to keep this up for another 5 years to even approach Vigen.

Do you remember Billy Cockhill, the OC under Joe Glenn?

I think he would probably give Vigen a run for his money as most hated coordinator. Cockhill was routinely berated by fans from the stands towards the end of his last season at Wyoming in 2007. We played CSU on Black Friday in Fort Collins that season. There were about 10-15 Wyoming fans at that game that were so upset with Cockhill's play calling that I seriously thought they were going to jump the railing and attack him. Joe Glenn fired Cockhill just a couple days after that game.

I would agree that Cockhill was one of the worst coordinators at Wyoming. Maybe the worst. Arroyo isn’t far behind.

I was never on the ‘fire Vigen and watch our offense improve bandwagon.’ Bohl ran the offense to execute his gameplan.

A lot of the most maligned coordinators at Wyoming have gone on to have a lot of success at other programs.

Cockhill was not one of them. He never coached another college football game again. He went back to Helena and became a mortgage lender.

If I remember correctly, Billy's father wrote a letter to the editor in the Casper Star Tribune a few years later talking about how happy he was to see Wyoming continue to struggle as it proved Billy was not the problem and insinuated Joe Glenn was the problem.

Vigen previously declined from my understanding...take if for what it is worth. $0.

Cockhill was a jerk. Glenn thought he could have mentored him along. Glenn only got 1 year with Cole before Burman canned Glenn. Cole is now the OC at Northern Illinois.
