If we were to make a change at HC, who would be on your list?

Collin Klein - Texas A&M OC

Financially, the only one we might actually have a shot at is Mike Shanahan.

I wish we had Eck. But we would not just have to outbid New Mexico, I think he will be on the radar of much bigger schools. I saw some Wisconsin fans (Eck's Alma Mater) calling for him before they announced they were keeping their coach.
 
In hindsight, would Jake Dickert have been a good fit. From my hometown and a close friend's first cousin (she says he is a great guy). Seems like he did well at Washington State and Wake Forest. At this point, he is probably well established in the 3M+ range but maybe we once had a shot. Lot's of connections between the Green Bay Packers and Wyoming...how about Mike McCarthy?

I actually really respect this. The guy has been successful at MSU, he probably likes it there, and money isn't everything. And none of the current offers were compelling. I think its great. When I look at available coaches, it amazes me how much they move around. Never in one place. Who could live like that? Packing up every two years.

I don’t know how Dickert would have ever been an option. He got hired away to be defensive coordinator at Washington State under Rolovich while Bohl was still the coach here. He then became interim and full time head coach at Washington State in 2021 after Rolovich took his anti-vaccine stance (while Bohl was still coach here).

Just don’t see how head coach at Wyoming was ever an option considering he made $2.7 million per year at Washington State and reportedly got a raise at Wake Forest. We pay Sawvel roughly $1 million a year.
