I would never bet against the Cowboys, but...

The line is now at 13?! With the weather forecast for saturday, I would imagine this game will be more of a low scoring affair. I just don't see the Pokes winning by that much. In fact, I think this will be a very competitive game.

My prediction: Wyoming 24 - UNM 20

Which sportsbook do you see it at 13? All of the books I use have it at -10 . I think Wyoming covers it at either number. New mexico is terrible.

You may be right, seattle, but the Lobos aren't always terrible and they can play solid football when they put it together. They were terrible against A&M, Tulsa and even NMSU at home, but they WERE NOT terrible against Texas Tech, in Lubbock, and Lubbock is a very tough place to play. They played well, looked good, and drove the ball. They onside kicked a few times toward the end and that resulted in the 48-28 score but they looked good. They run a fairly fast, spread offense and the D stepped up. Unless they revert, the Cowboys better be well prepared and ready. A week ago I would have fully agreed with you but I watched the entire UNM-TT game and they WERE NOT terrible at all. Let's hope for reversion on their part and top play from the Cowboys.

I have to respectfully disagree with you . Last week was not a case of N. Mexico playing well against Texas Tech , it was a case of Texas tech coming out and playing with a hang over after two emotional games back to back the two weeks prior against Texas and Houston . If Tech and N. Mexico were to play that game again this week it would be a 49-7 ball game . Wyoming will not have a hangover and will take care of a terrible N. Mexico team at home in the cold in Laramie . 38-17 Wyoming. Just my opinion

No doubt that Tech wasn't on their best but NM looked solid. They are definitely not to be taken lightly by this Cowboy team. I'd pick the Pokes by 7-21 but I don't bet because anything can happen in any game. I have no doubt that UNM could leave with a victory if UW makes a few mistakes and the Lobos step up like they did in Lubbock. Tech had a lot to play for. Leach is getting ridiculed after negotiating one of the highest college salaries in the country and then losing to UT and UH. The team was being questioned as well and had a lot to play for. The Lobos are no TCU, no doubt, but to me they are dangerous. Let's hope I'm all wet and the Pokes pull away early and build on it.

Their RB Butler emerged in the Tech game -- just like CU's Stewart did in its game with the Pokes. This spells trouble. If the weather and wind damps down the passing game, the Pokes could focus on him, but he will do damage anyway. I think the advantage the Pokes have is in the coach. But 10 pts is probably to optimistic of a spread.

My whole point is that Tech played one of their "d" rated games and still won by a big margin . If they would have played their "a" game it honestly would have been a score most likely around 63-7 . They could have named their score. Tech had no emotion. Tech knew they would win that game last week before the game started.
Wyoming will have emotion because it is a conference game at home and you will see again this week just how bad N. Mexico is. You are giving them WAY to much credit for that game last week in my opinion .
Any team in any game could have many things happen and Wyoming can't take anyone lightly but Wyoming won't be taking the Lobos lightly . This game I do not expect to be that close . Guess we will see .

I see it close, and really hope I am wrong. FAU is terrible, we didn't blow them out. I know it was on the road and in the heat, blah blah, but it took a late drive to pull a win out. I think we can build on that experience, but we need to be ready for the Lobos, they will be ready to play us because they know this one of their best chances to get that first win.

idk about you guys but im okay with any sort of win in this one and we will be 4-2 (2-0) when was the last time we started 2-0 in conference

The year after the Las Vegas Bowl - or maybe the Las Vegas Bowl year?

Don't get me wrong, I will take any win by Wyoming .... by 1 point or 100 points and it will be great to start off 2-0 in conference. I could end up being totally wrong about this game but in my opinion I think New Mexico is getting too much credit for last weeks game in which they still got beat by 20 points to a Texas Tech team that wasn't at their best . I think Wyoming will be ready to play and will win this game fairly easy , easy enough to cover the spread . I could be wrong but I think I have a good chance to be right on this one.

I probably am giving them too much credit because they were INEPT for the first four games, but knowing how tough it is to play Tech in Lubbock, I do give them credit. Yeah Tech was emotionally down, had a hard time getting ready for a terrible team coming in after being knocked down, and was lackadaisical throughout, but the Lobos, for the first time, looked like a football team that actually practices and can run plays, defend, etc. IF, and I grant you it is a BIG if, the Lobos can build on last weak, and the Pokes stumble, it could be a sad day. The Pokes have shown promise but they have also demonstrated weaknesses. The Lobos are STARVING and see this as one of their few chances to get a 'W'. I'd pick the Pokes by 7-14, with an outside chance at 21, but I truly believe it could end up bad if the Pokes aren't ready to close the deal.

I agree with you that if we aren't ready to play then we could lose . DC seems to have taken responsibility of this team and I just do not see him letting this team take New Mexico or anyone lightly and that's why I think we can win this game by double digits . We might have looked like crap against Colorado but that was more because of a emotional standpoint from the week before and not having a lot left in the tank within a weeks time more so than DC not having us ready . Lets just hope they are ready because if they are I think we get our biggest win this season so far in point differential .
