I think I know what it sounded like on the field when

Go to the 59 second mark. Holy crap.

That video doesn't do it justice at all. You know, they should make every home game through September a night game.

Well, not everyone can be down on the field or sidelines, but considering the cheering drowned out ALL other sound, I'd say that is pretty good.

This is the loudest I have ever heard the war...

Agreed, from my position mid-first deck, north 35 yard line, in the student section it was deafening. Although I do agree about this last game that at times it was loud, especially for only 20k in the stands. I think that had to do with more than the usual number of students being at the game. At least from my vantage point, the student section looked fuller then normal (I think the night game helped that). Although I only thought it was loud towards the beginning of the game, even by the 2nd quarter it seemed to quiet down, and by the end it was hard to get anyone to yell on 1st or 2nd downs. Whereas the Texas game everyone was yelling every down the entire first half.

On 3rd downs, I would get sections 28 and 29 yelling at the top of their lungs.

The loudest game I've been to was probably the last time we beat BYU at the War. It was pretty awesome. Beating BYU was even better. Now if they could only repeat it this year, even though it is in Provo.

Ya gotta love Youtube...great find.

The loudest games I've been to, top Texas and Virginia...1996 Air Force game We won 22-19 crowd of 30,009. And the record breaking 34,745 vs csu in 1997, even though we lost that game 14-7, the war was literally rocking! It was kind of scary being up top and seeing and feeling the stadium shake.
