There was a sports alumni banquet in the Union tonight. I work in the Union as a building manager and he came by the info desk and said hello. I was honored to shake such a legend's hand tonight.

Another cool tidbit is that I'm coaching Tom Burmans son on my youth football team here in Laramie. Tom has been helping out coaching when he can so I've had a lot of time to talk with him about UW sports which will be neat connection to have throughout this season. So if you guys have anything you want me to ask him, let me know. lol. I hope he likes my coaching because I'll be asking him for a job when I graduate

Sweet! That'd be cool to meet him. Has Burman produced any interesting tidbits about UW athletics?

Ask Burman why it was nearly halftime before the pepsi vendors came up to our seats by the pressbox. I don't remember it taking so long last year.

Also, ask him why the players don't stay on the field afterwards, I was hoping to get more pictures of my son with some seniors like Fletcher, Unrein, W Johnson, etc. Probably a DC thing, wanting to get the players in a give them feedback right away. I do miss that, the end was kind of anticlimactic. I was hoping to have a photo album of my guy with all the senior starters each year from age 5 to 12 (when he starts playing saturday games). Living 3 hours away I don't know how to get his picture with the players anymore.

Very cool, Cornpoke. Coach Roach is a great guy and as you now know, just a regular guy; very approachable, very friendly, just a good guy. Glad you had the experience.
