I hope it is not true...

But around Laramie, I heard a few people "inside" the program say that Joe is ok IF, IF, the pokes have a "GOOD SHOWING" against TCU, Tenn, UNLV and CSU. They said that they thought we could beat SDSU.

Folks, if this is true, I quit. First, I don't think we will even come close to having a good showing against TCU and Tenn. Those are 40-50 point losses. We might keep UNLV and CSU to 20 point losses and who knows or cares at this point about SDSU.

Has it really come to the point that all Joe needs to do is have a "good showing"? What about winning games? A "good showing"?? Are you kidding me??? The point that people are saying Joe still might be ok blows my mind!. At what point do we decide that losing SUCKS and that winning a football game for the university and state might be a good thing. Good God! If anyone is out there that thinks that Joe should stay as coach of Wyoming, please tell me why? I need some clarification as to why!!

But who makes the call?? We need someone that has some balls to stand up and take charge. Who though? God, this is frustrating!

I am afraid, no..., I guess I know, what is gonna happen saturday. I will be sitting in my chair watching the game and just sit and shake my head. You almost can't get pissed anymore cause it is pathetic. You just can sit there and shake your head.

I don't know about that...

How can "good showing" be measured? It can't. The fact of the matter is UW will be 2 & 6 going into the SDSU pillow fight...being outscored roughly 180 to 13 in FIVE conference LOSSES. Think about that, FIVE conference losses, all in a row, and not just of the Vic Koennig variety (close losses)...Losses where we are getting our effing A asses kicked.

At the start of the season, everyone knew and was told by Joe & Staff...that THIS was the year of the Cowboy. My ass, we are WAY WORSE than even last year! And so some douche (one in particular) makes mention that if we have a good showing...well...all is safe? I think this is a case of someone making a statement semi-publicly to merely try to keep the ship from completely imploding!

If this even holds water...time for Buchanan to step in.

Agreed McPeachy, Buchanan has to be the trigger man. The fans have to create the kind of pressure, political and otherwise, that forces action to be taken. When donors threaten to keep their money in their wallets, administrators tend to take note.

I don't know guys I think this is just a rumor. Joe is already gone. If by a wierd twist of fate he isn't next year's attendence will mirror preGlenn which will fire him. I guess he will come full circle then. I can't think why anyone would even want to associate with him. He is a loser. Only people who might start a rumor like this is to help people form a picket in front of Old Main or they are denial of losing their jobs. I just can't wait for the next coach. He will be a piece of work I am sure... Sad days ahead for the program... Perhaps basketball will be ok... :(

One thing you said, scares the shit out of me (as being an alumn, fan, booster, etc.)...attendance. We simply cannot afford to go in the wrong direction, for MANY reasons. Look what (this same exact scenario) did to Men's hoops...we are still YEARS from recovering...YEARS! And that is absolutely detrimental.

If you assume the rumor is true, then what happens when TCU mops the field with us Saturday? I expect us to lose by at least 40, if not 50 points. We will turn the ball over at least five times. Will Glenn and staff be gone then? If not, how motivated is he and his staff going to be moving forward for the remainder of the season knowing the TCU game was the determining factor on if he keeps his job? Glenn already chose a side when instead of getting out and recruiting he decided to stay home and practice/motivate the team. This tells me Joe is more concerned about keeping his job than doing what is best for the University down the road. I would guarantee that when the pre-season magazines rank recruiting classes, Wyoming will be in the bottom five. The only bright spot where attendance is concerned is the Texas game next Fall. I expect that game to sell out, and that extra 18,000 over the 15,000 minimum average attendance requirement should prevent us from going below the minimum 15,000 attendance requirement. What should be done eventually MUST be done immediately. I think Glenn, at a minimum, should go now. I think the university needs to pony up some serious cash and bring in a solid coach and recruiter who can at least bring some respectability back to the program. We are a laughing stock now. Watching the reaction of the Mountain West Channel to our performances in the last few games has been painful. They always just stop short of saying we are a terrible disaster of a team. I think if TCU can skunk us and hang 40 or more on us, they might just finally be honest and admit we are easily the worst team in the MWC and one of the ten worst in the country.

Despite what I see as a no-win situation for our Pokes, I will continue to support them and cheer them on. If we lose the next four games, which is very likely, I will be attending the CSU game with a shirt that says "Glenn MUST GO!!!"

No way is a rumor like this true. Ian posted on GWG the other day a thread that suggested the very scenario posted here (that 7 wins weren't needed to save Glenn's job). I have no inside information, but I would guess that the decision has been made, and contacts have been made with a short list of potential HC candidates. I just hope that it's a guy who can bring back excitement and wins to the program quickly, because we don't have time for a lengthy rebuild.

Not at all sure about my source, but I heard today that the word somewhat inside the program is that Glenn will be let go Monday. Who knows though, everyone in this town claims to know someone inside the program or athletics dept, and even if they do, most of those people tend to not know whats going on.

Well we didn't keep it anywhere close to TCU after the 1st quarter, we can not get to 7 wins. Even if we got to 6 wins we probably wouldn't get in a bowl. So, I don't see any reason that Burman can come up with at this point to keep Glenn, definently time to start looking for new head coach cantidates.

I stand corrected...UW has been outscrored 185 - 17 over the 5 conference losses. What a sad state of affairs, when some nobody internet poster can predict stuff like that...that close.
