I hate this football season.

Stitt and Bohl's philosophies for a football team are very different and very similar. Both want to control the clock and tire defenses out.. Bohl wants to do it by ground and pound, Stitt does it by running 95 plays a game every 11 seconds. Not sure they'd mesh. In my last convo w/ Stitt he has no desire to be an OC.

I can top that.

Wyoming is 0-6, my original high school, Casper Kelly Walsh, is 2-5. My actual alma mater, Oklahoma City Putnam City North, is currently setting at 1-5 and is looking squarely at the possibility of going 1-9 for the year which would be the worse season my Panthers has had since BEFORE I moved here in 1991! PCN had it's first winning season in 1990. Plus, both pro teams I root for aren't doing well at all...the Saints and Seahawks.

Top that, guys! I dare yea!

My sympathies, Wyokie.

In recent years I've had horrible records from Idaho, WSU and WYO. At least this year's WSU/WYO game wasn't the worst game in the nation, like it was when Wyo played at Moscow. It does get old, watching these teams get better.

We moved a couple of months ago to a small town in eastern WA, and last Friday I saw my first 8 man football game - our guys won by some 50 points. Probably no cause for some optimism, as our fans said we'd lose by 50 this week if the game went well.

The only glimmer for some optimism is to consider the case of Bill McCartney at Colorado. In 1984 he went 1-10. But they kept him on and by 1990 his team was ranked #1 and was co-national champion.

We still have a chance at bowl eligibility this year. We just have to finish the way we started, but opposite.[/quote]

This year I have the Cubs in the NLCS to focus on right now. Hopefully they will get me close enough to basketball season by making the World series. I still will watch every cowboy game I have but if I wasn't on such a high for the cubbies I would be miserable. So go Cubs go.

I have also not been doing well this season. My two alma maters UW and NMSU own the two longest losing streaks in FBS, and are 2 of the top 3 on the bottom 10. How bout them apples?

Stitt's recruiting classes will be interesting to follow. I figured there would be a tough transition with Montana's current players and Stitt's system, but I expected more success. Montana could still go on a run and make the playoffs and surprise some teams but no room for error.
