I feel like the MWC moves since the split was announced have been flawless

I don't have a horse in the race, other than my love of UW athletics, and being spoiled since I attended in the late 80s. Here is my grading of the major moves since the split:

1) Keeping UNLV and AF in the conference with increased share - A+. We really needed that to not totally implode. Fine, the traitors can try to screw our Air Force out of money. Perfect, you liberal commies. UNLV, just too much fun. I work across the street from the current MWC headquarters in Colorado Springs, but UNLV is more fun.
2) Adding Grand Canyon - A+. Up and comer. In some ways better than the P12 Gonzaga add. Would you prefer travel to Phoenix or Spokane? GSU will compete in all of the non football sports, and win several MW titles in their first season.
3) Fast tracking Grand Canyon - A+. I love this. I have been grinning ear to ear and prompted me to post. This is the biggest FU you could make to the traitors. And it's a great move not even considering that.
4) Making Hawaii an all sports member - A. Great recruiting motivator for all sports. The travel cost is getting pretty trivial in today's world.
5) Adding UTEP - A-. UTEP was a solid WAC9 member. Gets us into West Texas, Friday night lights! Go Mojo!
6) Adding Northern Illinois - B+. I like this. Especially for UW. We recruited very well from Chicago in the 80s, this certainly won't hurt. It doesn't hurt that the Josh Allen coming out party was in 10 overtimes at 5 AM against this team. Ok, exaggeration. Slight.
7) Requesting mediation - B. I like this. Shows you were willing to try.
8) Adding UC Davis - B. I like this as well. PAC12 assumes Stanford and Cal would return if they leave the ACC. Not so fast my friend... For UW, Southern Cal recruiting is a challenge. Northern and central Cal work. This won't hurt. Academically, major get. Offsets any GCU academic negatives.

I'm actually starting to enjoy the whole situation. I love seeing BSU, SDSU, CSU, and USU squirm. Fresno, yeah but not as much, don't feel they are as cocky. I can't wait for basketball season. I doubt we realistically can win the MW, but GCU has a great track record against the traitors and I'd love to see them win it.

We have done the best we could with what we have. Objectively, if you step back and look at the array of teams in the MW going forward, none are juggernauts or overly attractive. We are, like all of the other G5, misfit toys brough together to survive. Until the portal is brought under control and the NIL world is better constrained, we will continue circling the drain - and so will BSU, CSU, the PAC and the rest of the G5. Even then, the sooner we confront the reality that we are not ever going to compete with the P2 and let them break off and start their own NFL junior league, the better off we will be. A bitter pill to take - especially since it is coming in suppository form - but one we have to buck up and endure.

I would describe the entire G5 as a sinking ship, but I agree with what you're getting at. Mostly grading her on a curve here.
A curve is the only way that schools like UW, our admin, and our teams can get a passing grade - so it is fitting.

My bigger concern is whether UW, UNM, UTEP, Joser and other schools can do what is necessary to compete at even a mediocre level. UNM is in a horrible financial position, UW is headed there, and the other teams in the conference are not much better off.

A suppository with the foil wrapper still on.

I didn't say anything about the UW schools, admin, or teams. Only Navarez. You wouldn't be the first to project your disapproval of UW onto Navarez though.

I think that we are actually in a better spot than we deserve, so I agree with you there.
