This is very typical of what you see coming from espn. They don't care about Wyoming and will do everything they can to hold us down and present Wyoming in a bad light.
How do you figure that? I've never interpreted ESPN as anti-Wyoming. Their never on that channel.
espn is anti-MWC

I'll give you that, but I've never seen them completely put Wyoming in a negative light. Saying a team won't win is one thing, but outside of that not much more is said.

nah they're too smart for that....what they WILL do is put MW teams in an "irrelevant" light

Sure.....that is true.

Awful T.V. deal, no exposure, and when they are talked about.....its in a negative light from outside national media. Screw this God-forsaken conference.

Not sure how ESPN looks at the Pokes, but if you look at 99% of the stuff said/written about TEMPLE by ESPN, most of their "experts" still think we're the joke of a football program that we were back in the early 90's. Not to mention ESPN's lack of respect for the MAC Conference as a whole. The more I read and look at our two programs, I feel like we are very similar. Both play in conferences that garner little or not respect, both are solid programs who have won their share of games over the past few years and deserve some respect.

Shame not everyone (ESPN) sees it that way. While I would LOVE to blow out the Pokes on Saturday (because our program needs that type of shot in the arm), I don't see it being a blowout. Not to mention, I think it would be great for both programs for this game to be an exciting, well played game on National TV with a nice, big viewing audience.

Owl, Overall, Wyoming's wins were against better competition as were the losses. So stats are a bit misleading regarding power running game, defenses, turn-overs, etc. And not to nit-pick but I don't think the Bug had even one run this season for 60 yards. So I don't see him busting through holes all day for long TD runs. He is good, as is Pierce, but we've seen it before. I think it comes down to this. Wyoming is going to score at least 35 points, so if Temple can keep up, you can win. Besides Pierce your biggest weapon might be your strong legged kicker enjoying the altitude and keeping us pinned inside the 5 all game long. Then 35 might be a little tricky.

Good luck to the Pokes and the Owls!

This thread's title reminds me of an old Dolph Lundgren movie, I Come in Peace.

Nice to see a decent Owl fan on here. Should be a good game! My flight from Louisville leaves at 7 am! Can't wait to go out there and see the Pokes prove him wrong. I see it being CLOSE either way..

I just re-watched the Temple vs. Ohio game on espn 3 . Temples defense looked terrible. Ohio moved up and down the field on them and amassed 521 yards of total offense and Ohio runs a spread similar to Wyoming's. Only difference is Brett Smith is a better QB than Tettleton of Ohio.

With two weeks to game plan Christensen and Brandon are going to have a field day with Temples defense. Temple is going to have to score to keep up with Wyoming. I will say Coyer is by far the best QB Temple has had this year. Kid can run and throw. He isn't on Brett Smiths level but still a solid QB. This is going to be a shootout in my opinion.

That game was one of those games where us as Temple fans were going..."who is this Temple team?". We played horrible defense that game...Granted, a lot of MAC games turn into shoot-outs...

I really think Temple will be up for the challenge on defense in this game. Concerning Ohio's QB...He is pretty damn good and put up a ton of numbers this year...

I do admit you guys played a tough schedule this year but the only game that I really see that was close was the TCU game with the 5 turnovers by TCU. Nebraska and BSU were over by the start of the 4th quarter...
All the other teams are comparable to MAC teams IMO...

Not trying to say they weren't close games but when I looked at the scoring, it was like 36-7 and 31-7 with most of the 4th quarter to play in both...

Just some friendly banter...now on to the important stuff. I need good bars in NM to head to...help me out

Yep....who knows which Temple Owls and which Wyoming Cowboys show up this Saturday? That's the best part about football! We get to find out! :D

That's the painful truth for sure. Ouch. Also slightly concerning are the turnovers Smith committed in the last couple of games whereas he was pretty awesome in that department for most of the season.

Both teams have had "one of those days". i know I was saying "Who is this team" while watching the Utah State game. Especially looking back.. I guess that is why they play the game. I can't wait to get to the Dirty Bourbon tomorrow night!!! See you there!!

A plausible explanation for the turnovers recently is they haven't been holding Smith back as much as at the beginning of the year. He has been making more plays recently but also has turned it over recently. imo

Should be a good game. And damn I wish we had another shot at USU. That is the ONE game that got away and the one game that is unlike the others. There will be paybacks next year....after finishing up 9-4 this year.

Go Pokes!!

I don't think UW plays the Aggies next year. That was the return game for the previous games at WMS.
