I Apologize!!

For questioning the students that were kicked out for standing up and cheering, assuming they did more. I thought there had to have been more to it. I was wrong. Again, I apologize.

What I witnessed this past Wednesday's game against CSU, first hand, absolutely makes me sick. Why does UW feel the need to monitor fans...to the point that if they are cheering too loud they get told to keep it down? There was NO swearing, NOTHING vulgar, just loud appropriate "FAN" cheering. And I am not referencing the student section (which I thought was awesome by the way). I am referencing the donor / lower bowl sections of the AA.

I cannot think for one second that Shyatt / Bohl - etc., et al, would approve (enjoy, like, agree, whatever) of the administration at UW monitoring the fans that are in attendance for cheering too loud. Yes - the administration, NOT just the Landmark minions, actual UW administrators / employees. Maybe there should be a disclaimer on season tickets / purchases - directing them to the "quiet section" for next years seat renewals, if they want to sit on their asses and remain silent.

I have bitched about it on here before, that if UW fans with heavy pockets want a quiet environment to enjoy UW, they should funnel their money toward the fine arts department, and get the hell out of athletics. I am very close to sending this bitch along to the head coaches - just so they are aware that their own department is doing everything they can to keep the fan base quiet. Surely the coaches want a loud and cheering fan base.

I am pissed off.

Can you elaborate on what you saw?

I cannot get into anything real specific at this point, other than what I wrote already - regarding UW administrators / employees, along with Landmark, requesting fans to calm down / keep it down, and that they were being too loud.

And I am not kidding you. I am completely pissed off, as are some of my peers.

Something will come of it, guarantee you.

That's craziness if true. I can believe it though. At the games I've been to this year I end up feeling like a weirdo because I'm the only one standing up and cheering. The culture needs to change. I don't care if you're 82. It's bull crap, it's a basketball game, stand up and make noise. If people are asked to sit and be quiet that's asinine. Yes, write those letters, please.

Get after em' Peach, you and all your buds.
I get shut down at my own home for too much vernacular, I know the feeling. ugh!

At the New Mexico game I went to, my buddy stood up and yelled Bullshit one time over a bad call and u should've seen the dirty looks shot our way. Back when i was a kid, such sayings were prevalent all over the arena.I appreciate all of our fans but the average age of a fan in that lower bowl has to be close to 60.We need an infusion of younger fans IMO.

If we make the post season and it ends up being NIT/CBI, they should host the games in Casper and get on the phone with every high school in the state. Offer free tickets to every highschooler and try to get the school to bus the students over.

Just maybe if the younger generation starts to see some winning at UW - and they get the opportunity to see the game in person - just maybe we can get some new blood going through the stands.

That's a cool idea. What is the capacity of the events center? 7k-ish?

i think the Ath Dept is still upset over when Jack Nokes used to phrase that's another W.Y.O. 1st down and M'er F'ers came after that, although I thought it was clever a little bit went along way on that, but kids will always be kids

Somehow I could see how that would piss off the department.

BTW, I met Jack Nokes back in Dec. of 1990 at the 1990 Cowboy Shootout. Hell of a nice guy. I helped him keep track of fouls in all four games of that tournament.

I'm not sure - Wikipedia says 8,395, and Wikipedia in the same article says 9,700
