Guess what?

We think we can come to Lincoln and beat you.
It's not rational, but were fans of Wyoming damnit

As you should.

I'll counter with stating that I think Taylor Martinez will have a better completion percentage and quarterback rating than Brett Smith, to go along with more rushing yards as well.

Ill give you the rushing yards. Thats pretty safe, although I think Brett will do good things with his legs. The passing stats I think you'll be surprised. I know its fun to overlook talent not wearing red but Brett Smith is pretty special and it would not surprise me to see his name in the Heisman race over the next two years. Saturday cannot come fast enough.

It isn't wholly irrational though...

We have beaten opponents that are more highly ranked than #18 in the country before.

But just to keep all the Huskers from pouncing to defend the honor of their program by calling me names and dragging my Pokes through the mud, please note that I am predicting a Husker win in another thread. You all are a touchy lot...

And I am not one that thinks Martinez is terrible. I watched him eviscerate K-State a couple of years back. I also have seen him drastically improve his throwing abilities. If he can limit turnovers, he will take a lot of pressure off of Nebraska's defense, which could net good things for the Huskers. If he doesn't, a team like Wyoming could create some issues for you all.

At any rate, I will be in the stands in Lincoln on Saturday - cheering like hell for my Pokes.

I'll be back win or lose. Now, specifically, since I've made an audacious claim, I'll be back to rub it in or to eat crow, depending on the outcome :thumb:

probably none.....i just wonder if Bob Devaney never left UW for Neb, would the tables have been turned, would Neb be where it is now?? hmmm, nice choice on Men's bball coach we got tired of yelling at him at CSU......Tim Miles, keep him....
how many National Basketball titles do you have in team history, yeah, apples to apples

And i will be back win or lose. This is our board. This is our state and we will support the Cowboys win or lose. Do we want to lose? Hell no. We will play our hardest and move on. In the grand scheme of things, this game really has no bearing on our season. Would it be an awesome feather in our cap, yes, but the MWC championship is our main goal. This game doesnt do anything to achieve that.

We have sucked at basketball since James Naismith invented the game. But we like Miles, and we think he's going to make us better.

Did you know Nebraska has never won an NCAA game, like ever? I think you guys have at least one win, right?

And a national championship thank you very much....and a Wyoming athlete and Alum invented the jump shot....let that sink in....

As for road wins vs. Top 18 opponents, I don't know. I do know that we have thumped Top 18's at home, including highly (Top 5, I believe) ranked Arizona State.

As for Miles, I think he will turn Nebrasketball around. I am glad that he is not at CSU.

Yeah...Nebrasketball...Never really been good, probably never will. All I ask for in basketball is that they don't get embarrassed by most of the conference.

Don't sell Miles short. (I don't think you are.)

When he got to CSU, they suuuuuucked. It wasn't even fun to be them because they were so bad. Then he built his team from the ground up and was kicking the hell out of everyone - which includes this past year as that was his team.

If you give him a little time, he will bring Ws. Plus, he is an absolute riot to listen to. I would send my kid to play for him for sure.

Being a Nebraska fan and native, while going to school at Wayne State (in the same conference as Southwest Minnesota State), and growing up in North Dakota, I love Miles and obviously have a lot of reasons to hope for the best in him.

He's invigorated this program to levels I don't think it's ever seen just as far as optimism and excitement. It helps that he's got the nicest practice facility in the country and a brand new arena still with the plastic on it, but his personality and his eagerness are fitting right in and making believers out of people that probably didn't even know we had a basketball program.

He does seem like he is going to do positive things, I still do not see NU ever competing for a B1G title in Basketball though.

Come on NIT!

I essentially have zero delusions about NU basketball.

Lol really asking Wyoming "even you have 1 win".
Haha wow.

Sorry, our Wyoming basketball knowledge doesnt go back to 1943 when you won a championship.

Disclaimer - I know you have had other NCAA tourney wins(7 wins I believe? None since 2002 though).
