I don't think Hunter is going to make his decision based off passionate Cowboy fans losing an in state kid. In a state as small as Wyoming, that's always going to happen. It's still a bit on the stupid side for some of our posters, but it's not like that level of negativity is exclusive to Wyoming. That's standard for any program recruiting a guy they want more than anyone else, especially if he's an in-state kid in a small population state with the rich basketball history Wyoming has.
I'm excited with the recruits Edwards and company have landed so far. Buddha Jones, Louis Adams, and Hunter Maldanado all bring length and athleticism. We're still in the mix for Hunter and Parker. That duo has the potential to transform Wyoming into an annual top 20 program.
I'm also excited that Hunter's final schools are all within driving distance of his home town. He wants to stay local, and there aren't many programs that fit his wish list.
Also, my brother pointed out that Kansas doesn't normally recruit 4's with the skill set that Hunter has. He's right. They don't. It would be out of the ordinary for Kansas to offer a 4 without incredible leaping ability and freakish athleticism.
I guess we'll find out soon enough with Hunter. August the first is only two days away.
