How is it going burman fan club members?

For all Burman lovers looks, like he let you down! He got all your hopes, up with sh## he schedule in the non conference, and you all bought in the hype with this team! you thought this was a great cowboy team! now what do you think now? 2-5 in MWC, soon to be 2-6 with a blowout loss at CSU! You cant spell burman's name without saying CBI

Are you even a wyoming fan?
You are predicting a blowout loss at csu? Before it has even happened? What a tool.
Is it Burmans fault the the Lobo player hit a game winning shot with 7 seconds left? Idiot.

It's time to give burman a taste of his own medicine! I say hire a, assistant AD then tell burman he no longer has a job at wyoming! just like he did when he hired the new track coach, said oh by the way he will be the cross country coach to! burman is such a chicken sh##

Understand the frustration with the lack of success. I am both a season ticket holder for men's football and basketball and I have been for over a decade. So I get it. And I don't see your argument about Burman coming out of leftfield: but I just disagree. I think the jury is still out. I think in a couple of years Burman may be looking like a genuis; he could also be fired. We don't know yet. I predict great things for men's basketball in the next few years; remember Shyatt is only in his second year. And with our qb going into his junior and senior years, I also predict bowling for the next two. So we'll see how many are calling for burman's head then ... that's how I'm calling it. We'll see.

The biggest problem is simply that at some point there needs to be results somewhere, anywhere. Zero MWC titles under Tom Burman in any sport. That is humiliating. Our only chances come from TJ and Legerski and each of those are Wyoming guys whose tenure predates Tom Burman. Other than Schroyer (who was an obviously poor hire from the beginning), I can't find fault with his decision making in terms of his hires, but in the end results should matter and the results are awful, especially considering the watered down nature of the MWC now (doesn't apply to Men's BB obviously, but in most other sports the departures of BYU, Utah, and TCU weakened the league considerably).

Good post...yet it seems you forgot about the Schroyer extension! That IMO, should have cost him his position.

Apathy has set in on the high plains...of course, us UW football fans have been saying that since 1997.

I don't think fans are apathetic. To the contrary, I think Wyoming fans for the most part are very interested in the only show in the state. I think fans want to see success......no, fans need to see success We're starting to see it in wrestling. We see it in football every other year.....this needs to be every year with conference titles going forward however given the new make-up of the MWC. And, we'll start seeing it in basketball. We have two coaches who were forced to rebuild. Last night we played 2 seniors, a junior, 3 sophmores, and 3 true freshman. Meanwhile, 3 players who would be senior this year are starting for other teams thi syear. This is a team that flirted with the top 25 earlier in the year. Things, I believe, are looking up.

Personally, I'm not into looking backward to find fault. That does very little to help the future.

Peace,

McPeachy,
I agree with you. The hiring of Schroyer in the first place was questionable. The extension was a joke. But can we say things have changed much? The BB team is once again towards the very bottom of the league. I think expectations are different for old farts like me who remember the Bill Garnett - Charles Bradley days and younger posters who think this is a big step up from the last years of McClain and the entire HS tenure.

When you look at the great players we've had: Reggie Slater, Brandon Ewing, Justin Williams, Fennis, Lechner, and so on, it's hard for me to get very excited about what I'm seeing on the floor right now. I hope for a victory saturday but csewe has won about 24 in a row at home. I don't see us breaking the streak. I don't see where the points are going to come from. It boils my blood to see the talent at csewe and wonder why we can't be getting players like Eikmeir and hornung.

Give us some time man. We are in year 2 of the rebuilding. This season is not lost.

Both of those players are seniors jesus. What about leonard? He is better than them both.
And if you wanna look at Shyatt recruited players look at Adams, Hankerson, and the young guys coming in.

I think it is fans like you is one of the biggest reasons we can't fill the arena.
We are in year 2 of the turnaround but we lose a close game and have a rough start to MWC play and everyone is freakin out and bitching and moaning. fuck.

Give him some damn time. Look at fuckin fisher in san diego. They were HORRIBLE when he arrived, and now he is recruiting NBA talent.
We are 36-17 under Shyatt's 2nd stint. And on pace for another 20 win season here.

But once we get a little bit of success unless it is immediately the top of the conference it isn't good enough.

you made some good points until that ridiculous statement. I don't expect top of the league. I'd be happy with 5 or 6th. But I'm sure as hell not happy with being in the pigtail game again. Also, I don't give a damn about most of those non conference wins. Oklahoma panhandle state? Are you for real? Schedule padding. The conference is where the rubber meets the road. I'm tired of hearing from you morons about how excited we should be about this team. I'll support it but I sure as hell won't get excited about it.

The AD doesn't schedule the basketball games, rather, that's usually on the shoulders of the basketball coach.

Feelings are intense!

Not really. How's it going? Running well? I'm doing Canyonlands this March. Should be a hoot.

Goin' good mostly. Runnin' OK. I've got to overcome injuries and normal weight. I'm trainin' hard tho'.
Today I ran 15-100s. It was different than usual. All XC with hills and it was fun.
In 2013 on every Saturday I've raced on an indoor track 3000, 5000, 2000 and 1000.
I had a hard time with the 3 & 5 but the last 2 Saturdays I've gotten better in the 2 and 1.
I may run a 1500 this Saturday but I'll see because maybe I will change my mind with the distance.

Canyonlands sounds like fun whatever it is......

Thanks.
Have fun.

Hey, "old farts like me who remember the Bill Garnett - Charles Bradley days "? In good humor I'm gonna up you with--my bb heros being Harry Hall, Carl Ashley, and Stan Dodds.

Who's to say we didn't steal the next Eikmeir and Hornung type players in Adams, Grabau, and Herndon? I think Shyatt's holding his own in the recruiting war.

Not trying to be a dick, but you realize both Brandon and Justin played on bad teams. Great players, bad teams. And it took a few trips to the NCAA's in thanks to Charles Bradley, Bill Garnett, and Kenneth Ollie to be able to attract guys like Slater, Leckner, and Fennis. In fact, the class with Slater, Tim Breaux, Travis Butler, and a few others was probablay the best class in Wyomng history. Unfortunately, Benny couldn't get them to go as a team. The bottom line is Shyatt needs more than a year an a half to attract these players, although Keonta looks pretty good. And the fact he had us in the top 25 with what he's working with is above impressive.

Brandon's freshman year got us to the MWC tournament final. I remember we were 1 free throw from beating SDS in regulation and going to the tournament. So right about Benny. Tim Breaux was amazing and Slater was unstoppable when we remembered to get him the ball. Then it all got ruined when Maurice Alexander scored 50 in a triple overtime loss to New Mexico. From that point, Benny couldn't stop Alexander from shooting!

I hope you are right. I'm sick of the pig tail game and won't watch it if were in it again.

The state of wyoming should stop giving money to Wyoming athletics, untill they get, rid of old baldy! state money is not doing any good.
