What in the holy hell was that call that basically took 14pts. away from us?? Let's discuss..

Please don't misunderstand, that is not the reason we lost, but was hard to overcome, especially with Sween throwing SO badly. We might end up leading the nation, in turnovers.

I only got to watch, via Gamecast. What happened?

Well, the worst call was when Seldon "fumbled" and they picked it up and ran like 80 yds. for a TD. It was SO obvious that he was down, and they took forever to make the call. The wierd thing was, they never really called anything during the play, and then after a LONG review said that the ruling on the field stood. What ruling??? We had the lead at that point. That was a 14 pt turn around, or at least a 10 pt one. We were deep in the redzone. Even the AF guy that picked up the ball almost stopped running because he thought the ball was probably dead. These refs kept reviewing plays (taking forever) and screwing up half of them. Oh well, we still could have won if we didn;t make the other FOUR turnovers.. Ouch.

I was at the game and some of the calls the refs made were horrible. The worse part is that most of the AFA fans thought the refs were screwing them.

The whistle should have been blown, the play had homerism written all over it.

I disagree that the refs weren't the reason we lost. Sure, we could have played a WHOLE lot better, but this is a different ballgame if that "fumble" was reviewed by someone with eyeballs (the ground can't force a fumble, football 101 MWC officials), given back to us, and we get a TD out of it. With the way that drive was going, there is no way we would have settled for a FG.

On a side note, is it just me, or are the officials all over the NCAA really REALLY bad this season? I see at least one major game a week where a crucial call is botched very badly. Just a thought...

I never said that was THE reason we lost, I agree that we never should have been in that position, but the fact remains that the missed call on that play was a HUGE turn around and took the lead away for good.. Oh well, I am done whining, on to this week.... hahaha

Check out the UConn/Louisville game.. that was a big example of the refs blowing a call, which probably cost Louisville the game.
