When, in your heart of hearts, without your brown and gold glasses on, do you think we will see the Wyoming Cowboys men's team back in the NCAA tournament? Since we're going on 12 years since our last appearance, I thought it would be fun to kick this around.
 
Probably never with our shitty luck. Plus we have a jackass for a AD and a pack of morons for a BOT.

IMO, within two years.
 
Cannot put together a reasonable guess. If Nance had stayed healthy and the rest of the team had stayed intact I would have said they had a legit shot next year.

Now, it isn't in the cards for the next couple of years so it just depends on future recruiting and development of players.

Yah that's kid of where I'm at. I would have definitely penciled us in for next year before Nance's injury. Now...who knows?
 
hard to really say but i'm hoping in 2-3 years, afterall its time for the basketball gods to smile upon us instead of the other way, once the Larry Shyatt pipeline comes thru we'll see what we really have upcoming, damn it for next year as I was seriously thinking that was our time as well
 
Hard to say.....that question goes hand-in-hand with; when will the MWC be good enough to get 4-5 bids again? Wyoming can very much achieve 4th or 5th if the league can garner that much attention again.

I'd say within the next 5 years, but we say this about every sport really. Wyoming is clearly still in the midst of a dark era in Athletics.....no NCAA tournament in 12 years. No conference title in football in 21 years. Those are big numbers in the sports world.

No shared football title since 1993.

Happens once every blue moon. This modern era of college football has not been kind to Wyoming.

I'm not sure how anyone can say we can't. We had a legitimate chance to win the tournament this year.....and depending on Nance's recovery, we only lose two players off this team. Even without Nance, Shyatt will find players to make us competitive. We're close.
 
maybe if we'd start paying our coaches(which were slowly starting to do) we wouldn't have to rebuild/reload every 5 years or so, gets old fast, or maybe our UW faithful enjoy medocrity

Which isn't Burman's issue.. It's now up to the legislature to give athletics more $$. How about people start putting the heat on Welniak - He hasn't grown the fundraising arm one bit. His main role was to be buddies with the state gov to try and get cash. Burman is the best fundraiser Wyoming Athletics has.

Back in the saddle when: Recreational POT becomes legal in Wyoming. Watch recruiting in Colorado schools take off. Will next happen in Washington.
