Holding on to our #8 ranking

I truly believe (with the right leadership) Wyoming could be competitive with any team in the MWC. A change in culture is sorely needed. It’s way past time for Wyoming to stop being an embarrassment and revert back to being the pride of the state.

North Dakota State paying their AD (Larsen) and coach (Polesak) $340k and $580k respectively. They are now the favorites. https://openpayrolls.com/rank/highest-paid-employees/north-dakota-state-university
As I stated in another post - NDSU has a WIN mentality. Wyoming calls being average at getting to .500 a winner because with the prolonged periods of accepted failure .500 feels like a win.

The pay huge bucks to be up with the big boys (that left Wyoming out) would be fine and dandy if it produced results.

I was super frustrated with the stubbornness of Bohl insisting his lack of offense was a way to be competitive. At the same time I would count the programs nationally getting to 6 wins in hopes that our 6-6 (2-6) record would get us at-large bid if we didn’t get a guaranteed conference bowl.

I would really like to feel the euphoria that comes with being the top dog in conference before my time expires. I’m closer to the finish line and that is why I get so frustrated with the Wyoming traditions of “wait until next year” and “we can’t do anything about the failures for 5 years”.

I am in the same boat my man. Life goes by pretty damn fast. Burman pissed away & wasted 20 years of my fandom and love for UW athletics, no other way to put it. Other than a few small blips, being a Wyoming fan has been absolutely brutal during his tenure.

Imagine if we were from El Paso. We would not be talking 20 years with only 8 seasons over .500. We would be talking almost the equivalent of being a newborn nearly eligible for Medicare and SS. I grew up knowing Wyoming as a powerhouse and loved seeing the UPI polls.

Football at UTEP has produced 7 seasons above .500 since joining the WAC in 1968 and it looks like they are on track to make it 7 in 60 years if they don’t turn it around in 2027.

That is brutal!

The negative part - Wyoming is now considered to be on the same level as UTEP in the world of college football - a bottom feeder conference member.
