Thanks for the clarification, I read it wrong originally so thanks for clearing that one up, my bad.OrediggerPoke said:YankPoke said:I have watched a lot of D2 football, and the talent gap is massive. Stitt would not be anywhere close to my top 10 in candidates, he must coach at a higher level before he can be a serious candidate.OrediggerPoke said:BeaverPoke said:I just want to point out that just because he has an undersized line and slower players, and it works on that level, doesn't mean it will work up here in the MWC.
The talent gap between what he has, and who he is going against probably isn't all that big, while up here, the gap sometimes could be huge.
My guess is that you have no idea about the talent gap between programs at the D2 level. I doubt you have ever seriously watched many if any D2 games.
And the Grand Valley State teams from a few years ago would have been very competitive with FBS Wyoming.
And you missed the whole talent gap argument. It was the talent gap of elite D2 teams vs other D2 teams compared against the talent gap of MWC teams vs elite FBS teams.
There is a big talent gap at the D2 level (i.e. Oklahoma Panhandle State vs. Northwest Missouri) similarly as to there being a big talent gap at the FBS level (i.e. UNLV vs. Florida State)
