Hey a husker fan here I just want to say I am glad you guys got coach Bohl. He is an awesome coach and def better then the one you had before. I also want to say I really enjoyed watching the pokes last year at the Neb game. I am rooting for you guys. I know a few poke fans like wyo1016 he is a good friend of mine and always enjoy talking football with him. Hope you guys have a great year this year. How did the spring game go for you guys? Just wondering how the depth chart will look at the start of the year?

Glad you made it over here, Danno! Spring game was promising. The defense looks to be much improved, but we really won't know to what extent until we play someone other than ourselves. We've got some depth issues on the defense, though, so it could be a tough transition season. As far as offense, our running backs are by far the best and deepest position on that side of the ball, and possibly the entire team. We've got two really solid options and some pretty good prospects behind them. O-line is a big question mark, and it has been for years. The staff has said that they'd like to see more progress along the line, but it will get better.

The biggest issue on the team right now is at QB. Smith leaving early for the draft hurt a lot, but Thompson transferring was arguably harder to stomach. We all knew there was a chance that Brett was going to declare, but no one saw the Thompson transfer coming. Right now we're running with a career backup Rs Sr., an untested So., a Sr. that's been playing WR for the past 3 years, and a So. JUCO transfer that just isn't picking up the D1 game as fast as we thought he would. We've got 2 Fr. QBs coming in the fall, and many of us on here are betting that one of them will be the starter next season.

Defense, front 7 really, is looking solid. Secondary needs to shore up a bit. Offense, well, we have good receivers and very good running backs (I believe you guys remember Shaun Wick?, he's one of them). Offensive line is behind the curve and QB is in the hands of a couple of game managers.

Thanks for the support. We are encouraged by what we have seen since Coach Bohl & his staff got here. With his arrival rather late after coaching the NDSU team to the FCS National Championship, I thought they did a good job with the recruiting class. His S & C coach is really raising eyebrows of both the players and fans and should be a huge improvement over what we had before. What we saw in the Spring Game showed our defense much improved, but also showed we have some work to do on offense - OL & QB (since we lost Brett Smith to the NFL Draft). We are a little thin on depth at a couple of positions also. Good luck to the Huskers. I know WYO1016 - I met him at a tailgate a couple of years ago.

Welcome aboard. I think Brett Smith showed to all of the Nebraska folks talking up Taylor Martinez who was the real deal at QB.

I believe next season will be tough with the ridiculously hard OOC schedule, but this team is already much much better IMO. I don't think it is a secret that Wyoming's success will be closely linked to finding a capable QB where the depth chart currently has four (4) guys all with big question marks. We will absolutely have the best defense that we have seen in a while at Wyoming.

Depth at RB a good thing. What kind if QB does Bohl like? I know he likes to run the ball a ton so that will help the QB out a ton til he learns the play book. Dang I wish it was football season already!!

I don't know how the season will turn out this year - its too early on and I skipped the spring game this year - first time I've done that in quite some time.

What we need to do is field a strong offense and a strong defense. We haven't been able to put both on the field for quite a few years now. For example, a good offensive year - beating Hawaii 59 to 56 (2013). 2006 was the last real defensive year we had.

We will likely take a big statistical hit on the offensive side this year - but we will probably gain back time of possession in that area. We've had some nasty 3 and out blink of the eye type offenses for a while.

Frankly, if the defense isn't on the field and the offense is winning the time of possession battle, I think we will be moving in the right direction.

Promising for a 3 win season, yes.

Well you predicted a for sure BCS bowl in Wyomings last 3 win season. I'll take this as good sign!

Difference between predicting and hoping.

Also, at least I didn't think a D2 coach no one has ever heard of could take over at a MWC school and be successful.

OK thanks.

I thought it was going to be another example of someone who doesn't know the difference between Division II and FCS.
