Hey Jay, bench Svoboda now.

Is there another coach in the nation that would have his team go 0-4 with the worst offense in the nation and not even consider a change at QB?

It’s so pathetic that this cat just won’t see the truth. The kid just does not have the skill set to play at this level.

Wow, best quarter of Wyo football all season. Have to say getting the running game going and getting Evan under center a bit really helped the mojo.

I'm afraid it's not gonna happen. Last night bought him at least a few more starts. I can't put all the offensive problems on Svoboda. Why in hell are we doing a shotgun snap from the 1 yard line? Has this coordinator ever heard of a qb sneak? And trying to run wide on Air Force is about as dumb as it gets. There is a stupidity to this offense that will make it hard for anyone to run.

Anderson comes in cold and has looked pretty good. You would expect him to look like Nick Smith coming in. They don’t just make him hand it off either. If they’re going to keep with the Qb power run game, Svboda isn’t a bad option. Doubting my qb eye tests because Svboda also looked good in limited throws last year. The thing that really stands out is looking and staying on first read. Kaden had a pump fake and a pass last game for a good game. Whether that’s intentional or not, who knows. He just looks to throw a more accurate ball. 8 for 11 this year? I’d be curious to watch Evans good passes from this game and see if they’re all first reads that happen to be open.

Maybe...just maybe...the kid got his MOJO "back." I put a lot of blame (almost all) on our OC Johnson. I mean really, you have a foot or two for a first down, and you don't put your 6'5" 250# QB under center for a sneak - you line up in a shotgun formation? Are you an idiot? Also, stop with the quick outs, they don't work with the tools you have, you are no UNLV. Lost 5 yards all 3 times that play was called. Again, what an idiot. Seemed like play calling was a tad bit better, utilizing Evan's skill set (hard running).

This is called "stiving to always be better"...

AFA is a shell of its normal self this season. While my opinion means nothing, I still think that our OC is terrible. That said, we have a bye week to heal up and take on a fairly beatable opponent on the other side of the bye. If Johnson is smart, which I am skeptical of, he will do more to retool his offense to fit the personnel he has (which, to his credit, is apparently what they did after UNT housed us): a bruising QB that comes alive after being hit a few times, a line that knows the read option game, and a TE that is going to be even stronger after two weeks of rest. Add Whaley (maybe) and maybe we can get to 3-4 wins this season. I am doubtful, but I am also mindful that our early schedule has, in retrospect, turned out to be a gauntlet. ASU, UNT, and BYU are all waaayy better than people projected. Idaho's game against Oregon was no fluke and they appear to be a top FCS team.

I am still not sold that our defense can beat any team that has the ability to throw the ball - let alone throw and run the ball. Our secondary is hot garbage. Still. SDSU will be a huge test for Bohl to show us he's actually figured out how to coach up and defend against the forward pass. Hell, even AFA had a field-day against our craptastic back end on Saturday...

Idaho lost to UC-Davis. They are no FCS powerhouse.

We were completely trucked by the other 3 and playing against backups by the 4th quarter.

But we do have the personnel to grind out games against bottom half MWC teams if we move to the power run offense and stick with it. I see 4 wins being the high end of possible.

I saw the Idaho score after I posted. They were No. 4 but clearly fell off. The others, in fact, trucked us. I also see 3-4 wins total this year. Maybe SDSU and Utard State? CSU? New Mexico?
