Check out these maps. Gives you a good perspective, as well as a good idea, where every 1-A and 1-AA (BCS and FCS) school in the country is. Very interesting.

I agree but it's a sad fact. Most of the population in the U.S. is back east. Althought Nevada and Colorado are growing with people moving there. Wyoming's population surpassed the 500,000 mark for the first time ever! Thought I'd be dead before that happened.
 
The FCS map is more lopsided than the BCS map, by far, but still a sad fact. The geographic center for the FCS is somewhere near Chattanooga, TN, while for the BCS, it's a little closer to center.
