Heard Bohl is cleaning house

Some attrition is normal with every class. Kids should be free to go with a handshake and sitting a year. Their scholarship can be pulled at anytime. You want to talk real world? Loyalty only exists in a mutually beneficial relationship. Loyalty in the real world is out the door as soon as 1party no longer benefits or benefits to an acceptable level. In the word of Deion Sanders "It is hard for me to fathom that I gotta be loyal to you, when you aren't loyal to me".

You want loyalty? Give them guaranteed 5 year scholarships, medical, etc. and guarantee a class schedule that is doable and yield a meaningful degree. Acknowledge that they sign with a staff and not the University. Thus, if staff leaves, the player obligation is optional.

Significant attrition is a symptom of bigger issues. Recruiting? Problems with coaches? Etc.?

Agree 100% with the idea that kids sign with the staff not necessarily the school. Perhaps if the NCAA permitted kids to leave without penalty if the head coach decided to move on, university presidents and ADs would finally start enforcing coach's contracts.

Love the Neon Deion quote; it sums it up. For the posters talking about the "real" world, this is the real world. So all of you guys that married your high school sweetheart, are still driving your 72' pick-up and are still working at McDonald's, your loyalty is unquestioned and admired. But in the real world, a lot of us move on.

When these kids signed they did with the understanding that they would receive good coaching , I'm just not seeing that , yes ever once in a while they break out of the box and make a good call , as far as coaching I just do not see it during practice or during games . So as far as kids exploring better coaching I would say good for them they deserve better.

This is a bit confusing. To my eye the team's fundamental football skills improved a lot over the season, which is a result of good coaching. They did struggle with position play, still.

We stopped giving up as many big plays. It didn't really help against teams like SDSU and BSU. Took them a little while longer to score

we are a much better team now than the one that lost to north Dakota and emu. The freshmen on d obviously improved. The only ones that could complain about poor coaching could be the WRs.What the hell do you expect from a team that's so young? Conference championships? Of course there's going to be growing pains. The main issue is Bohl ran off the old players and didn't back fill with JUCOs. So criticize him for that and not because he couldn't make a winning team with 50 freshmen.

I think that is a fair criticism. Hurt this year, but not necessarily in the long run.

did bohl get interviewed at iowa state recently? \

or was this BS>

You really have to ask? Those are the same people that tried to rationalize Bohl coming here by making shit up about Wyoming going to the Big 12 (which happened for wrestling, but that's it).

That's not a report from anyone on those forums, instead, that's someone on that board reporting that Bohl interviewed at Iowa State based upon this guy https://twitter.com/ChrisMWilliams" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; who runs a website which covers Cyclone sports: http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hope either Holmgren or Gagliardi, or both, will investigate this. If it's true, this will alter my position on Bohl considerably.

There isn't anything wrong with fcs teams , shoot they beat us thus year, and those weren't even good ones . Just saying !!

If there is any teeth whatsoever to this, I wonder if he even interviewed or if his name was floated by the 3rd party search committee?

Either way, a FOI request by the press should give a quick answer.

I would be very shocked if there was any truth to the rumor.

Bohls the boss, if you can't hack it, leave. If you don't like it, leave. If you're not D-1 material, you don't deserve 4 years of free education. If I couldn't have hacked college curriculum, my scholarship would have been revoked. I'm sure some players get treated poorly, it's not all on the coaches. You could probably give us insight on players with poor attitudes as well. We're in transition still, some 18 yr olds might not like being scolded but those that stick around should be better off.

Perfect.

Exactly why I don't believe it should be a major deal when a player decides to leave. They may not be able to succeed at the D1 level in a specific scheme, but if they can elsewhere why not let them go? I would hope that if you couldn't hack your curriculum at that specific school, you would try your luck elsewhere.

You mentioned uniforms before -- and as a huge fan of the aesthetics of athletics, I'd be interested in hearing what our players think of our unis? I have zero problem with them, I love our colors of brown and gold, and our helmet is one of the most iconic in all of college football. Do tell...

Sorry I must have missed the introduction... who are you Hokey?

Personally, I think this emoticon should be banned for 1 year. I know it is just me, but the dead horse reminds me of our football program and the smiley with the stick reminds me of, well, every team outside of the state of Nevada.

I know, overly sensitive....it was a rough year

I can agree, if we can also ban Uniform talk until there is actual news about uniforms. lol

Considering Wyoming has beaten every FCS team they've played minus the two during our unfortunate current downturn, I'd say that Fargo fucks have no room to talk shit on our program or university town.

I'm talking now not previously, now . The depth is not because they are not funded with all the schoulership money . I mean eastern Michigan only win was against us ,ugg.
