It truly is! As bad as our defense is, we are about average in the MWC. There is not what I would call a great defense in the whole conference. Only Boise and Utah State seem to have any defense at all.

Fresno's 1st-team defense is pretty good.....very athletic. Its the depth that makes them look bad in 2nd halves.

Correction, their front 7 seems to be pretty good, but their secondary tends to get burned.

I think that's fair. Washington and Smith are pretty good, very quick.....but those CBs might as well not be there.

Fresno's a weird team. They look really really good at times, but am I the only one that gets a vibe that they won't win the MWC? They have a ticking time bomb feeling to them. Eventually the Fresno we've come to know over the years will show up. Hopefully in Laramie.

Yep. Squeaked by Boise AND Hawaii. 2 polar opposite teams that both passed for a bunch of yards.

I think the D is improved. It isn't good yet but its better than the horrible D we had last year. Looking at stats.

last year we gave up 6.23 yard per play on D this year so far we are giving up 5.6 yard per play.

Last year we gave up 5.25 yard per rush this year se far we have given up 4.96

I think where we see the bigger improvment is TFL

Last we we had 51 TFL for an average of 4.25 per game, this year we have a total 36 already for an average of 6 per game.

We only had 14 sacks all last year and this year we already have 11.

So While I don't think our defense is good they have definatley improved since last year and I could see us getting better as they become more familiar. I guess we will see.
